Liverpool’s winner came from an incorrectly given throw in yesterday - which is my major issue with the system - an incorrectly given corner/throw is more of an issue than a shoe lace being offside as it actually changes the game.

Did anyone else notice for Burnley's disallowed goal it looked like they drew the lines in the wrong place?

Abraham's leg was sticking out but they still drew the line from his body. No discussion on MOTD I guess because it didn't affect the result, but it seems like another case of the bigger gamma being favoured and nobody talks about it if it's a small club on the wrong end of the decision.

As well as Everton, Arsenal had a goal disallowed by VAR in our 2-1 win.

The Everton decision would almost certainly not have been given without var's intervention, so therefore may be considered to have aided us. The Arsenal decision was miles offside and almost certainly have been flagged as such had var not been in operation. Therefore, to suggest var gave us an advantage in that case is specious to say the least.

I didn’t see all the football last night. What were the contentious decisions? I saw the early one in the Bournemouth game, which was a clear penalty for the shove on Kane, so that’s one. Nothing else amiss on that game though.

I’ve not seen the Saints one so can’t comment, but I’m really surprised they’ve come out and admitted error on the Bruno one. That really seems like a referee’s (wrong but understandable) call to me, that enabled the VAR to bottle it and use the ‘clear and obvious’ defence.

I’d argue about the mistakes being ‘wonderful for us’.

One went ‘for’ us, and one ‘against’ us, and on balance it was an overall negative - Villa would almost certainly have lost with or without that penalty, yet Bournemouth ground out a point, they probably wouldn’t have got.

What did I miss?

Two very dubious penalties. I listened to the Man Utd one being giving on the radio so didn’t see it until MOTD, but the Southampton penalty just didn’t look right to start with and clearly wasn’t a penalty when replayed. How the V A R didn’t overturn both penalties I’ve no idea. As for the push on Kane, that was just ridiculous.

I was only talking about the Villa one, took the stuffing out of them, ridiculous decision, if only VAR was held to account

I don't think so. At the very least, by hitting his arm, it made him 'in play' and I think, offside.
