Dunno where you were sat but apart from going flat at times in the first half when it felt like defence v attack but without us creating much as they sat so deep, it was good in the North.

Well this!!

No point in demanding passion from the crowd and then showing nothing on the field.
The first half was pretty boring from the 15th minute onwards and the atmosphere dissipated accordingly.

Or by VAR refusing to give a stonewall penalty?

First and foremost is to get the players up for their "cup final".

The fans did their bit and then for some reason the players treated the game like it was done and dusted.
The same thing happened against Fulham.

There seems to have been a mentality switch from "we're going to score more than you" to "we're going to see out the game".
It worked against Ajax, but it isn't working in the Prem.

That isn't the fans fault.
