I like the bit about Bennett being RB (the rest is balls). I think he would be quality there sort of a lower league Dani Alves, pace to get himself out of trouble while breaking from deep and being good on the overlap and being able to deliver a good ball. Seems to have a good engine on him as well so would be able to cope doing the back and forwards job

It would be great to try wouldn't it :lolol:

Hoyte is pathetic, like an under 8 and he is out of position before the kick off.

Waste of space and wages.

Hang on, I was only joking! Bennett has covered at RB this season and did okay, but why would you want to lessen the impact of one of our best attackers, as well as playing a non-defender in defence?

I thought the rest was very sensible! :lolol:

Amazes me how Hoyte has got as far as he has. When you think about it, Arsenal have given us some real shite over the years, Barrett, O'Ceraull, Hoyte.

Lets give anyone a go at right back rather than Hoyte!

I thought that Hoyte had a good game today which will upset a number of people on here. He defended well and looked comfortable on the ball linking up well with Bennett.

snap, got forward well especially in the second half. Looked a bit of the pace at times but that was to be expected as he has not played regularly.

He was poor first half but agree a lot better 2nd half played a bit more like he did in his first couple of games for us.

Where do you get that from he did well and on most occassions he passed the ball inside to Croft if Bennett wasnt available on the wing.

It would appear that our fans are not used to ball playing defenders and expect them to hoof the ball forward every time. They then expect the wingers to pump a cross into the box on every occassions and not play the ball with patience and build up an attack.

For some mysterious reason Poyet seems to want to carry on playing Hoyte. I'd much rather see El-Abd or Virgo at RB, hell, I'd rather see Elliott Bennett at RB!

Also I hope Mellotron won't start one of these NSC opinions that seem to spread like wildfire even if they're blatently bollocks (for other example see "Davies will be quality with a good pre-season under his belt" and "Tunnicliffe has been our best defender this season")

No no no. Hoyte has been poor this season, all I was saying was not as poor as some suggest.

He was however, UTTER GASH today, seemed baffled by two concepts:

1. Having the ball at his feet.
2. Defending.

no he wasn't. Kept there left winger quiet during the game and got forward well, half the time not getting the ball but was still going and making space.

He IS good going forward, but dreadful defensively.

I've stuck up for him previously but second half he lost all composure and positioning when they were coming down our left flank.

Are you joking? He was okay in the first half (good going forward, bad defensively) but in the 2nd half.... my God.... he was f***ing AWFUL. I mean, truly truly awful. His confidence looked shot to pieces.

Did chuckle to myself when Hoyte f***ed up fpr the 7th time and some of u binners on this thread saying he's the best RB we have!! it is literally laughable...

He was even at fault for the game- not tight enough and stood square on with his legs open!!! Mch rather have WHING!
