I definitely recall an incident when the ball was heading into the crowd and a hand popped to direct in back to the green or fairway.

Correct . Must say though that Pavin has changed hugely. Thought he was superb this week, as were the Americans. They were terrific yesterday and helped make this Ryder Cup one of the best despite the shit weather and Wales !
I think we should remember that Montgomery is a pretty unpleasant piece of work as well ...that seems to have gone unoticed

As you say, match halved ! Crikey, I had it in mind they'd won. Thats turned out to be a maHOOsive gaffe then, I'm surprised theres not been more made of it.

Westwood and Kaymer would have won the hole anyway! I'm sure Fowler more than made up for it in his singles come back

Basically, he is just grumpy.

Todays sad society values would send him on an anger management course.

I am trying to decide what annoyed me most in the Ryder cup us having a point halved by a 14 year old boy who looked like he took the wrong turning on his way to a high school musical audition or blubba Watson and overtons ridiculously over the top reaction to the eagle chip in the fourballs

Overton, typical American frat boy childishness. Oh, still never mind we won. Montgomery can be a grumpy old toad admittedly, but nice to see him genuinely enjoying the Ryder Cup. Always amazes me how good the atmosphere is. Fabulous.

Sorry you had to be there....Youve just said it,'eagle chip' , and thats when the tide was turning from blue to red .. USA could see it, Overton certainly did, and no doubt you would have done the same thing IF you had been in that situation.
The atmosphere at a Ryder Cup is beyond belief, and this young guy was in the middle of it . It grips you and things happen , that dont ever happen on a golf course at any other time.
What people didnt see were the tears in his eyes at the end

Funny how even in the 'crucial' moments for the Europeans they managed to get by with raising fists and loud cheers without resorting to chest bumps and the like. Almost as ridiculous as boo in the last Ryder cup doing his happy gilmore on the course. That said made the victory even sweeter!
