cracks me up the anti daily mail mob on here are just the same when it comes to falling in nicely behind a self righteous bit of scapegoating. the sentiments may be nobler but all this heads should roll stuff is very funny and exactly the same of unthinking guff others they rail against come out with.

I am sure all the upstanding chaps on here have never said anything slightly sexist in a bit of Lads banter in he pub before a game so you have every right to criticise and hang the bloke out to dry.

There's a difference though - he's in the public eye and certainly can't say this in the modern day.

If he was just a member of the general public, then he could pretty much utter anything he wants, and even in terms of celebrity, if he was a comedian doing it ironically, there's a chance he might just get away with it.

But he isn't, he's a TV anchorman who has come up with inapproriate off-camera "banter" that's not too dissimilar to that of Pavilionaire's avatar.

If anyone does not understand the difference between the pub and their workplace they would not keep their jobs for long.

Absolutely. Still, at least Keys & Gray will have plenty of opportunity spend their day(s) in the former now. Every cloud...

He is up his own arse. When asked to comment on the sackings of Ron Atkinson and Rodney Marsh (personally I agree with the first but not the second), he said he could not give an opinion. Why not?

I don't like the bloke and what he said was stupid but the thought Police in this Country and the over reaction is frankly absurd.

How is that absurd? If in your workplace you made a comment questioning a womans ability to do the same job as a man would that not be viewed as sexist?

Hang on, US and Spanish.

He is only being 'hung out to dry' because he has a public profile job.

In pretty much any workplace, Keys and Gray would be a gonner for what they've done. There'll be a dozens of bullies sacked every week. It's just you don't hear about them. So are you saying that different standards should apply because their jobs are (oops, were) high profile?

Okay, I'm off to ask my workmate whether they would smash some exes of theirs and then complain to another colleague that there is no way the women in the office can do their job properly because they are, indeed, female.

I have no idea what that is about. A private conversation in a television studio with cameras and microphines sounds a bit an odd concept.

i find the concept odd that just as they work in tv everything they say in the day of making a tv programme should be potentially broadcast and therefore requiring behaviour as if it was. if you were an actor and backstage at the old vic would you be walking around in the hours before the curtain went up not saying anything that you wouldnt say on stage?

And ask the young girl starting out in the office if she wouldn't mind tucking your shirt in the front of your trousers.

It was a PRIVATE conversation.

In a studio, with work colleagues, guests, TV production staff, cameras rolling and mikes on - are you for real? Of course it isn't private. That is in your house/in the pub.

It's getting a bit boring and repetitive now. Hawksby and Jacobs should change the angle, i.e. get his comments on his female colleagues in the Sky News room who present professionally and then make a bit of extra cash by posing starkers for Nuts.

I'm not defending Andy Gray but Charlotte Jackson invites a reaction from men by posing for dirty pics. He probably wouldn't have said that to Gabby Yorath or Clare Tomlinson.
