So, what you’re saying, as a Derby fan, you are quite happy that Keogh has been ****ed over to save paying him.yet those who committed a highly serious illegal act, and ran away are fine to carry on as normal?

Pragmatic - more like pathetic.

Sadly that is probably right. Has anyone had a look on any Derby forums to see what they are saying? I would bet that few are taking the moral stance and declaring that the club should sack them all. They will be convincing themselves that the punishment for the youngsters is enough and congratulating the club on saving a stack of cash

I think you'll find I pretty clearly said I didn't like it and therefore can infer that I'm not 'quite happy' about it. Every single football club would do the same thing though, that's the long and short of it.

Au contraire, most people are pretty uncomfortable about it but many, as I mentioned previously, are pragmatic about it....

You may not like what the club has done, but in saying it’s a pragmatic decision you clearly condone it... disgraceful.

Guesswork...and the sort of justification comment we’ve come to expect from Derby and its antics

Condone, disgraceful? Get a grip! It matters not whether I 'condone' it or otherwise, it's done, I don't like it, I still support the club.

But that’s the whole point, you’ve rolled over and accepted the disgraceful double standards displayed by your club.

I feel your time would be better spent on the Derby forums, letting the club know how unhappy you are with the way things have been done, but clearly you don’t care one iota as to how Keogh and the others have been treated.

Up the Rams!!!

It's not binary though is is, I don't like what's happened but neither do I feel it's quite the atrocity that you do. I'm not going to start the reinstate Richard Keogh campaign, he's a wealthy man, he'll be okay.

He's a wealthy man, do doesn't deserve his rights, that's a novel twist.

Of course everybody deserves their rights, rich or poor. What we don't know - and won't until all the appeals have been exhausted one way or another - is whether he's actually been deprived of any of his rights.
Whichever way, he's been very stupid and irresponsible and a lot of people, quite reasonably, won't have a lot of sympathy for him.

In a court, I’m pretty sure Derby are f**ked, I’m no legal expert but SURELY you cannot say we’ve sacked this guy for something that in reality is minor in relation compared to the two younger players, age and value is the ONLY reason Keogh has been binned off, had he had no injuries I bet they wouldn’t have sacked him. Surely in a court, you can’t use someone being old and less valuable as vindication?

The legal case will be more about Keogh not being now able to fulfill his side of his contract through his own reckless actions - not wearing a seat belt, knowingly getting in a car driven by a drunk - whereas despite their own reckless and illegal actions, the other 2 can still fulfill their own contractual commitments.

Also for bringing the club into disrepute from his elevated position of captain

Keogh has joined Milton Keynes, fighting off a host of Championship clubs for his signature.

Keogh issued an emotional message of thanks to Derby fans

"Keogh, who played more than 350 times for Derby and was twice named player of the year in his seven years at the club, posted the following message on Twitter: "From the bottom of my heart I would like to say thank you to each and every Derby fan.

"We've been on such a journey together these last seven years. We've cried together, bled together and celebrated together!

"I've felt every emotion with all of you and my love for Derby County will always be unconditional.

"Despite the ending to my story at Derby, there are people there who will always be family to me, they know who they are.

"Thank you to every player, and coaching staff member who have helped to create these memories with me. I wouldn't like to call myself a hero but I'm satisfied with my contribution at this massive club.

"Finally thank you for your support and well wishes as I turn the chapter, but it's true what they say - Once a Ram ..."

Careful - the Leeds lot will probably claim Ben White wrote it about them and it has just been edited by Keogh.

That is an absolutely textbook player farewell statement. 10/10. Well done Ricky
