No coincidence it's the arse end of the flat season and he's banned for most of that!

I wonder if he'd have been so flouncy if it happened at Doncaster in March??

Still, gives him the winter to learn to count to 7

There is the Breeder's Cup and BCD though! Wasn't Hughesy due to ride in India or somewhere in the winter? Is he still doing that?

it shouldnt be carte blanche, dettori was rightly banned for hitting rewilding 20 something times this season, but if hughes is gonna be banned for 2 weeks for one extra whip 6 instead of 5 so he misses the big breeders cup meeting its ridiculous and if its allowed to stand he wont be hardly riding anyway and neither will most big jockeys cos theyll always be banned, the whips are nothing like they were anyway.

Sone horses need a smack to get them going, just like some people need a kick up the arse...there is going to be some strange results,as if picking a winner isnt hard enough.

Having been bought in the country and having my late father own a farm yes I bloody am....and unless people have a countryside background, they dont know what the f*** they are talking about....They are not cuddely nice little animals, they are compulsive killing machines that can cause thousands of pounds worth of damage in a single evening.

Sad to say I agree, foxes might look cute and cuddly but they are in fact vermin. It may be instinctive for them to kill every chicken in a coop when they only eat one but they are vicious little bastards. As for race horses though, well, I'm not into horse racing so don't give a damn about punters or bookies but I don't like cruelty to animals. Cruelty to bookies on the other hand ....

Do they realise it's a PR disaster as it comes across as: "We can't hit our horses so we're not going to play! :tantrum:"

I fully support the jockeys to strike on Monday and at any time they like, even if it means no racing for a few days.

When I or anyone else for that matter has money on a horse I want to feel safe in the knowledge that that horse has given 100% effort in trying to win and just like anything else they need a kick up the arse occasionally to realise their potential. The British Horseracing Authority have no other option than to back down on these new rules they want to introduce or face more problems of their own making. Jockeys are among the bravest sportsmen and sportswomen with the risk of serious injury so the powers that be should stop meddling.

Just heard jockeys strike has been cancelled. Not sure why though?

Would you like whipping added to all sports you can bet on? Should we let Gus run on the pitch and whip any player he feels isn't doing their best? Should someone follow usain bol and whip him until he breaks the 9sec hundred metre? People put money on all these sports and accept sometimes the human taking part will have an off day, maybe get over confident, maybe have had a few too many games in too short a period and they just are a little tired?

Ask anyone at the Palace match that question, and you might get a surprising result. I'd have happily let him threaten them with a loaded shotgun at 3-1.

Oh no, jockeys striking. How will we survive. Do you think the government will send the army in to take over.

At least Channel 4 will be forced to put something on that people want to watch on Saturday afternoon. Also, we'll never see that utter twat John McCririck anymore.
