Richard Beeby - the ref

Can very rarely say this but I thought yesterday's ref was excellent - and not just because we got a penalty (a clear one, although some refs might have bottled it at that late stage).

He never seemed to stop the game unnecessarily or make a big song and dance about his decisions.

Well done Mr Beeby!

Check your eyesight, magoo :)

I see a few people saying there should have been bookings for a couple of challenges on Leon - but we dish it out too. Personally I prefer a ref to just let the teams get on with it, especially in such a pressure match.

He was brilliant. Theres not many refs that would have had the bottle to give that pen in the last 5 minutes, no matter how certain it was.

I thought the ref was pretty good as well. Didn't wave cards about and kept the game flowing.

He was an excellent ref, willing to play advantage when he could, and not trying to dominate the game unlike other refs, he took second place to the football and got 90% of decisions right:clap:

Not usually one to say anything positive about refs (they ALL are rubbish aren't they?)...Mr Beeby got his game on Sunday almost perfect. And the game reflected that-no really nasty incidents, one clear cut penalty and no tempers getting frayed in what was a big pressure match!

So-well done Mr Beeby:clap:

Yep, thought he was good. Also, after he had a 'word' the Brizzle players stopped chopping Leon down - clearly a heeded word of warning - and a good sign of authority.

7/10 from me :)

Did we have a ref? He was almost anonymous. That's the way I like my refs.

Excellent performance. None of the Brizzle fans on the train were moaning about him either

I think he appreciated it is a physical game. He let some challenges go where players were using their body strength that other refs would have blown for.

I thought he was okay. The assistants were often late with their flags though.

I didn't notice him....which means he had a good game.

Same here. Only noticed him for the penalty, Virgo's booking (justified), a couple of Brizzle free kicks and Leon's free kick. In other words, excellent.
