Any other NSC'ers planning to attend?

I've just booked for the Saturday - it'll be my first RIAT since 1993. The display is scheduled to be 7hrs long, so hoping for some spectacular participants.

I had to google it - sorry. If the weather is good then should be a good day. I drove near Duxford at the weekend and saw they had a display on - thew weather was ruddy awful for it.

Definitely planning to. Had to watch this year's on Planes TV as could not go and the display list was most impressive, so I hope next year is as good.

In my defence, I was left unsupervised.

Yeah, I bought their last album, really good.

(Correct, I haven't got a clue what you're talking about)

Yes, in my calendar for next year. Like you, I haven't been for a few years. They were good shows back then, but since the US have been involved in the Middle East they haven't sent as many aircraft, due to 'Operational' reasons. The last show I went to the B2 stealth bombers were making their first trip to Europe and they were escorted by a couple of F15/16 (can't remember which!) and they did a double flypast. Spooky batwings, but an impressive sight. I think that might have been the Lakenheath show!

The last time we managed to go was the year the pair of MiGs collided in mid-air. The folks and I were setting up in the adjoining campsite when it happened.

Would love to see a Russian-piloted Su27/35 display over here again, but that seems highly unlikely in the present climate

B2's have done fly pasts at the last 2 RIATS

Decent start to the lineup, with the Spanish AV-8B Harrier and Swiss F-18 Hornet.

Always used to go on a Friday for the shorter show, smaller crowd, they changed last year to a full day, full crowd didn't enjoy it all. Took ages getting in and the show just went on too long for me. Enjoy watching from the campsite this year.

As Frutos says though, cracking start to the lineup.

Which campsite?

Townsend Farm - You don't get as good a view of displays as Totterdown, but great for arrivals and facilities are really good. Bar, food, ample showers etc. Watched the World Cup semi on a big screen there which was (nearly) ace. Totterdown has the views but a) books up the year before and b) as per my previous post, there's no escaping the intensity of the show*

* In fairness ear defenders are a pretty good idea.
