I'm headed there tomorrow. Any expert insider tips of must -see things from the wise of NSC?

(note how I put Reykjavik instead of Iceland, in order to avoid suggestions about Walls Viennetta & Birds Eye Potato Waffles).

Ta

Did you read my blurb on Reykjavik & Iceland recently?

Best tip: Buy your beer when you arrive at the airport (Iceland) before heading through security. Much cheaper.

Beware armoured bears. I've read Northern Lights, and though not based in Iceland, this pesky global warming might have forced them to relocate. Good luck.

Excellent place but seriously expensive. £8 pounds a pint when i went a couple of years ago. Make sure you do a northern lights jeep safari. Amazing. You might be a little too early to get the best show of northern lights as it s best viewed between November and march but you might get lucky.
Blue lagoon is good fun. Suggest visiting BL either after arriving at airport or before airport on way home. Golden circle tour also supposed to be excellent but we didn't do this as ran out of time. Whale watching is also good fun. Try the hot dog stand opposite the radisson blu hotel. World famous apparently and the cheapest thing to eat in the city!
Overall fantastic place. Very small city that can be explored quickly and easily. Looks like you are landing on the surface of the moon when plane comes into land.
Hope this helps. Have fun. Enjoy

Ibiza to the Norfolk Broads
Restaurants/alcohol seriously expensive. As mentioned above buy alcohol at the airport when you land so that you can have a few at your hotel before venturing out.

Blue lagoon & Golden Circle definately worth a visit

Agree with all the suggestions, especially out buying your booze when you get there at the airport. I had a Chinese for one at a restaurant which was about the cheapest I could find and that was £35. That was ok but the bottle of cheapish plonk I ordered with it was £40.

Blue Lagoon and Grand Circle tour also very good although the latter will take all day.

People are great and most speak better english than us.

I'm thinking of going back in November as I really enjoyed it, (would be my third trip if I make it).

Er, no. Where would I find that?

I want to go and gawp at VOLCANOES
I went to Iceland in November last year and it was incredible, going to Gullfoss was the highlight of my holiday and would advise you see that, I would recommend going to Blue Lagoon and also visiting one of the glaciers because they retreat each year and are becoming far less impressive. As others have said the Golden circle is worth a day of your time

Was in Reykjavik last week.

Small town that can be done in a day.

Recommend Whale watching (can do from Reykjavik). Some a minky whale, some porpoises & dolphins.

Also Blue Lagoon - 43 degrees in the hot spots!

Geysers & Gullfoss (waterfall) a must

The kroner has devalued to the pound & the cost of most things are not that much more expensive than here. No bargains, but most things 10-30% more expensive. A lot of the bars have happy hour 5-7pm, where booze is the same price as here or cheaper in that time. After that, not - hence why most Icelanders go out about 11pm till........generally on weekends.

And it is not a cold place (well the highlands are) but Reykjavik isn't.

It is a unique place - enjoy

And if you bump into an old bird who knows the Seagulls & Peter Ward, then send her my love as it will be my old friend Sissa, who spent a few years in Brighton in the mid 70's.

I've no idea if she's dead or alive but happy times....
