BBC Southern Counties Radio will be looking to read out fans' pre-match and post match thoughts every week - where we plan to post a thread before and after each match once the season gets going.

Please answer the following for use before the match this Friday:-

Alex Revell; bought for £8000, sold for £150,000 to Southend, was this good business or do the Albion need him now?

We probably do need someone like Revell now, but when we had Revell we needed someone like Murray who could link up with Forster. I presume we used the £150k to pay for the Murray deal and didn't he want to join Southend anyway?

I think bad business. He came back from injury and was showing amazing form, scoring week in week out. He was good in the air and in to feet.

Rated him highly.

Time will tell.

When you buy a player from non league you cannot expect them to be fantastic in their first season...it's a long term project.

So then when one gets bought in the relative early stages of development then you must wait. We'll see how good Revell is, but clearly the club didn't believe he would much exceed the 150 k target, within a time frame that was good enough. But if he far exceeds expectations then it was a loss.

Considering the current state of the club, it can only be considered bad business if he comes a good championship player, in my opinion.

Financially a good deal as £142,000 profit for a club like ours is alot, also would we have signed Murray if we still had Revell? I know who I'd rather have.

I'm not a Murray hater at all but i do think Revell will be a much much better player than him in the future.

I don't think many people will share your view. Murray will score 20-25 goals this season at this level, Revell will do well to get 10. Revell ran around a lot but never looked like scoring many.

Great business. He was well respected at the club and worked hard upfront for Brighton, but he didn't look like he would cause much of a threat and score too many goals.

I think you have got the wrong end of the stick. It is not so much about the future value of Revell that is being considered, more to do with the fact we have limited options up front and whether the £150k we received for Revell outweighs the use of Revell as a player. The question obviously ignores the fact that his transfer fee MAY have been used to purchase Murray.
