I noticed that too - had assumed it was someone specific in the crowd. Is there a rift between the team and the supporters at the moment (Or at least one in the minds of the players)? Deano was also a bit pleased - was almost humping Revell's leg on the pitch.

Alex also mentioned in the post-match interview that "we've been in the news a lot", "we're all playing for each other" and "we're like a family" or similar. Was that a reference to the chat about rifts or was it an "us & them" dig at supporters?

Not sure it is ever good to see someone telling the crowd or manager to f off...

But to be honest does not bother me as long as he keeps scoring.

I can't help but wonder what the reaction would have been if it had been certain other players both past and present.

Indeed, we know what the reaction was.

QUOTE]Depends on how it's done though, doesn't it? With an angry snarl it means one thing - with a broad grin amid the obvious delight of getting a first senior hattrick I think it means something entirely different.

Why analyse every tiny detail looking for something that might back up some theory that there is something badly wrong within the team? Why not just enjoy the fact that we won a game in the last minute and a popular player got a first senior hattrick?

Oh sorry, I forgot - this is NSC where there always has to be another agenda to everything.

I thought it was more aimed at the bench as has been said Wilkins laid into him at half time
Yes. There's a bit on the website about Wilkins saying Revel ran over to the bench with an 'Up yours gaffer' attitude in response to the criticism he'd had at half time.

So even though it WASN'T aimed at the fans I'm still not convinced it was totally the right response - and I thought El-Abd was within his rights to swear at the crowd!

Sorry if this has already been mentioned elsewhere on this board, but what struck me, when watching the goals on Seagulls World, was the lack of congratulations from most other players after Alex's three goals - particularly from Forster. It almost looked as if Alex was being ignored by his team-mates; he was virtually celebrating alone.

What on earth is going on ?

Look to me like he was directing it towards the bench. Wilkins mentioned it because he gave him a bollocking half time.

As for Forster not getting on with Revell, they definitely did acknowledge each other after the first goal.

I thought that was more a case of him just wheeling away on his own before the others had a chance to catch him. Him and Forster definitely acknowledged each other on the halfway line after the 2nd and 3rd goals.

revell didnt thank forster for either assists. in my day he would have been given a slap for that

In a split second, and an amazing achievement like that, who knows what goes through your mind? Now, personally, I'd have taken time to consider thanking each and every playmaker of my three goals, and turned to the crowd while reading a pre-prepared speech thanking Nicky Forster, not only for his support during that match, but for being such an asset to the Albion since his transfer.

Or maybe I'd have given a 'v' sign to the man who had given me a bollocking at half time in pure petulance.

Who knows? :)
