Anything has to be an improvement on the Red Bulls who had a shocking season.

Looks like it’s a step closer following Sunday’s announcement by Pele. Probably still a few years down the road but should happen with Pele driving it. Would be the 20th team under the MLS expansion.

I noticed that. Long way to go though. Ownership not yet formed and no stadium earmarked. Garber and MLS would love it though.

So would you stay loyal to NYRB or not?

There was talk of a tie up with the Mets owner but that all fell through after he got stung in the Bernie Madoff scam.

I’d stick with Red Bulls – they are now starting to look like a great team having just signed Rafa Marquez.

"It is believed they will be built up as an all-star touring team before attempting to gain an MLS franchise."

Will they be like the Harlem Globetrotters carrying out hilarious gags like tipping the contents of ladies handbags out in front of the audience?

Think it more likely the MLS will expand in Canada where there is the demand for footy teams before they re-enter the already saturated New York sports team market

They've already gone into Toronto, Vancouver (2011) and Montreal (2012). Realistically, that only leaves Ottawa, Calgary and Edmonton, none of which are big TV markets in the USA so what you say is unlikely.
