We went to the Caribbean in February with MSC. I must admit we didn’t like the cruise line that much. I don’t want to sound snooty but we thought them a bit down market. The ship itself was spectacular but I found the food unexciting and the entertainment kind of middle of the road. I was hoping for classes and lectures like you get with many cruise lines (I’m told). Mind you it was relatively inexpensive, so it’s hard to complain. It was our first cruise. We’ll give it another go with another company. It’s fair to say that a lot of people love MSC so maybe it was us.I just recently returned from my first ever cruise. It was on MSC Seascape. The ship and entertainment were top class, amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed it
Good to know. I’ve not been to Norwich since the 70s and am looking forward to it. The Sainsbury Gallery at the university is worth a visit, I’m told, as is the castle.32 medieval churches in the centre of Norwich, it doesn’t get much better than that!
Indeed Tim.I guess it’s like so many elements of social media, read it if it helps you, ignore it if it doesn’t. The thread is about questions around retirement, always happy to help about any subjects I know about. BLOCK C
You wouldn’t happen to also be vegan, would you?Globe jet-setters with VERY big carbon footprints ...
Never done a cruise (they're the worst apparently) and not flown since 2013.

Yep. A large population on Phuket since the start of the invasion of Ukraine and forced conscription, to the point that many restaurants menus translated into Russian and quite a few Russian restaurants opening up.We are in Thailand for about 6 weeks and have heard this from other people we have met.
So far we have stayed in the quieter parts ourselves and have only come across one Russian family. They were the same as other people have told us about the Russians they have come across.
Rude, arrogant, very demanding and no please/thank-you or general politeness.

This is what we were hearing from locals - it’s fairly young Russians mostly who can run away to avoid call-up and have enough money to do so. As well as the rudeness etc putting other tourists off, they’re now taking over local businesses, buying up property and generally making a nuisance of themselves.Yep. Locals not entirely happy and property prices rising as a result too.
No mate, I was Block C, at Withdean, right at the back of it, easy away after the game to get on the P & RIndeed Tim.
My post was a mere lighthearted observation, no more, no less and with a nod towards the WFA ructions.
It is good to post, as you say, when one can help and although I am unable to travel due to physical limitations rather than monetary, I still enjoy reading about other people’s experiences.
Hey, I am Block F not C!

Not done many cruises. P&O are crap, Celebrity are excellent by comparison in my experience though.

Celebrity is part of Royal Caribbean………personally would avoid Disney like the plague as we actively look for adult-only holidays these days (although did enjoy a few days at Universal over Christmas ) but have friends with kids who use them and they speak highly of them. Friends of ours did a very similar cruise on Holland America to the one we did last year on Celebrity - they didn’t seem overly impressed with themCruises - Celebrity gets thumbs up from several of my friends. Also one friend has just done a Princess cruise and said they were good -she particularly liked the entertainment (she loves her musical theatre and said the acts were fab).
I've only done two cruises and if you have young-ish children/grandchildren I would highly recommend Disney.
Also did one with R Caribbean but their standards weren't as high as Disney, although I did enjoy the Flow Rider surfing thingy.
