A bit OTT. He did play well against Arsenal though and looked like he could function in a man-marking role in midfield.

Few of my mates were in the Arsenal end and when I met them after the game all they were banging on about was Ince. Remember we were all panicking a big club would step in and get him before he signed a new contract.

At some point these contract offers have to expire, although maybe not before July 1st when the 4 players become free agents.

It would be good for the club to know where it stands as soon as possible.

Any indications whether any of the 4 are going to sign ?

10 days until the transfer window opens on June 9th ( some sources wrongly state 1st July ) so we could do with certainty as soon as possible.

Maybe some of the 4 already have? Perhaps they want to announce the outcome of all four together.

If the transfer window does open on June 9th then we should know one way or the other soonish. Either way, I'm sure the club have a plan B,C & D ready.

If Stockers goes to Leeds he needs his head testing.

It depends what his motivation is...

At Leeds he would:

Get a pay rise
Get a longer contract
Get a signing on fee
Get another season of more wins than losses
Get a chance to play for the team he supports
Work close to his extended family

The others are undeniably true, but he'd be unlikely to get a pay rise from Leeds over the one he'd get on a new deal here, and as an out of contract player, he'd also expect a signing-on fee here, too.

Really? Can you be sure of that? Leeds are a car crash.

I assume you mean he would get more than we are offering? Why would that be?

He would clearly get a pay rise whichever way he goes - ours would be bigger, but he'd still get one.

Same for the signing fee - both would pay one, and I'm sure it would be significant either way. Is it ALL about the money fro him? He'll end up as no 2 or 3 at Chelsea if that's the case.

Nope. Not more than we're offering, but more than he's on now.

If his motivation is long term security, would he prefer

4 years at 35K per week over 2 years at 42K?

Well none of us are privy to what is going on behind the scenes, but Leeds are his hometown club, and maybe the lure of playing for them is just too great to resist.

There are those of us too, who think that maybe the Championship is his level.

Not at all. If I got an offer to play for my club I would find it very hard to turn down escpecailly if they were offering a longer deal on similar money.

I'm not sure they would be. Perhaps now Cellino is on his way out purse strings will be loosened but Charlie Taylor's refusal to play was down to them being unwilling to raise his salary to give parity with their top earners who are on 15k a week
