No, it's smaller in the hope that you will buy another one.

I am not a man of small appetite but I have only once tried a double in Burger Brothers and I struggled to finish it. I think that their standard burgers are 5oz or 6oz rather than the standard quarter pounder.
BensGrandad - there is only limited seating in Burger Brothers and also as mentioned they do not do chips so not the place for a sit down meal. Herr Tubthumper has still to break his Burger Brothers duck so maybe HT and myself can meet you pre-match on a Saturday next year and we'll treat you!

It would appear that neither will fit the bill for the Leeds game as I want a meal as wife is on a chemo that day so wont be eating until the evening if she eats at all and I shall have to eat before the game.

Gourmet Burger Kitchen would probably do then, although it's a chain. They're pretty good, but never blown away. You do get a sit down meal though and the milkshakes are good.

So, I plan to pop my Burger Bros cherry over Xmas and I have just booked St John which will fulfil a long time desire to eat at this restaurant. It's a work related event....should I charge an admin fee?

St John is very good. You've probably heard about the bone marrow starter thing. Also, the madeleines are well worth a go. As you've probably gathered, I'm a fan of BB too.

From my experience I think Brighton still has some way to go to get a star. I mentioned this in my review of 64 degrees. And since then The Set and Isaacs have come along. Can't speak for the latter but whilst the former is good it still not near.

Have noted new Burger establishment in North Street,SMASHBURGER
Is it worth a try?

Indeed. Im reasonably familiar with Fergus Henderson's food and I have the bone-marrow starter in my sights!

Coggings and Co is the one - just off Sevendials. Lovely burgers, nice restaurant, not extortionate, not a chain.

To move away from burgers for a moment .....

Went to a do at the i360 last night with a three course sit down meal. Now I'll caveat this review with the fact there were 200 people so I get the standards might drop a little ( despite having worked in hotels and catering previously I know standards can be kept up ).

Green bean salad to start - it was OK, a little small and the pears ( yes pears ! ) were a bit over cooked. The vegan starter came out still frozen though !!!

The main course which was meant to be traditional roast turkey was abysmal - sprouts were so hard you couldn't get your fork in, carrots were as good as raw, the pig in blanket had more salt than the dead sea, the stuffing was raw, only a dribble of gravy and the whole thing was barely luke warm. The roast potatoes were soggy and it also came with a potato croquette !!!!! Something tells me the chef ran out of potatoes for roast potatoes and just looked in the freezer to see what he had.

Dessert was meant to be Chocolate Parfait - instead it was a slab of chocolate ice cream.

As I've said, I'll give allowances for the mass catering requirement but it certainly doesn't inspire me to visit the restaurant there ( nor do the previous comments about it ). Awful. 2/10 ( and one of those points is because I wasn't paying for the meal ).

A good word for the Waterfront Brasserie at the Rendezvous Casino, Brighton Marina last night. Had a three course meal with prosecco which was first class.

All simple but lovely food, crabcake starters, roast turkey with trimmings and Baileys cheesecake. What they do, they do extremely well and it's not badly priced.

I really don't understand this. They should have asked the Salt Rooms to oversee things, or got some local street food traders in. What a balls up.

Excuse my ignorance but is there a restaurant attached to the i360 then?
