Restaurante Andalucia, Ferring. Took my good lady wife out for a meal last night as she didn't appreciate the idea of the Amex pie & pint deal for a valentines treat. Really good tapas in a busy restaurant. Tapas come in quite large portions so it's easy to over order but we just about got it right last night - the chicken in garlic and rosemary is very good and the chorizo cooked in sweet sherry is a little different and turns into a nice sticky sweet glaze.

9/10 - loses a point as the service was a bit slow last night

Oh good. I wanted to try this place out. Now deffo will.

I'm off to Food for Friends tonight with the wife. It's been a while since I last went but my father purchased a meal voucher for me for Xmas. What a lovely chap he is. I'll prob pop into The Spotted Dog for a beer as well.

An enjoyable night. Incase you do not know it's a veggie restaurant. The menu is a mix of obvious dishes such as stuffed mushrooms and bean burgers and much more imaginative items should you wish to try something new/different. The food was well executed with balanced texture and tastes (I have found the other big veggie restaurant's mains a bit one dimensional and stodgy recently) and service was excellent.

Had a meal at the Restaurant in Stanmer House yesterday. Good food., good service , great surroundings. I grew in Coldean and Moulsecoomb and spent a large part of my childhood playing in Stanmer Park, and it's great to see the old house being utilised in this way.
The walk from the car park to the house needs to be better illuminated but as it's been open less than 2 months I'm sure that these things will be sorted in time.

Went to Stanmer House yesterday, really impressed - food was fantastic - try the goats cheese and pear starter, great service and reasonably priced. Great quirky setting

I am that good friend. I've been a couple of times. The Fruit Meat, the Pork Chop and a very unusual Brown Bread Ice-cream would be my recommendations.

I had lunch at Heston's Dinner on Saturday. I loved it. I had the meat fruit and the brown bread ice-cream but went for the spiced pigeon as I like a bit of game. Whilst you can get 'fries' as a side these are not Heston's famous triple-cooked chips.....but they kindly knocked me up a portion to try. I can confirm they are without doubt the best chips I have ever tasted. Perfect.

'Dinner' is Heston's take on brasserie style food, I think. It's not as 'out-there' as The Fat Duck, none of the theatre, but Heston certainly leaves his mark on most dishes. It's also very relaxed, no notable dress-code (The Fat Duck does not have a dress code at all) and the kitchen is visible and totally calm and the antithesis of Gordon Ramsey-like.

I preceded my lunch by purchasing a nice new pair of Levis (504) and followed up by heading to Brewdog Camden and it was all going very well until, according to the wife, I became slightly drunk and a bit annoying as I enthusiastically discussed the merits and tastes of the craft ales with numerous other well oiled men on what was supposed to be our valentine's date.

A valentines date with well oiled men - nothing like keeping those stereotypes of Brighton fans going:kiss:

Last week went to the top floor restaurant at the British Museum. Top class restaurant. Enjoyed the best shoulder of lamb that I have ever tasted. 10/10 and highly recommended on a day out in London.

Pho's very good, and very reasonably priced. Not sure how much veggie stuff they'd have though.

The veggie curry place near the level's supposed to be very good though, Planet India I think

Everywhere
I used to really rate pho when it first opened. Now however I find it a bit false and sterile atmosphere wise. The food also isn't as flavoursome as it should be. Round that area get yourself into the globe for some BBQ shack action, not really suitable for veggies though!

Went here on Saturday night with my family and had the best meal...
It is a very private little resturant. Almost like eating at someones house.
The Service was top class, infact the best service i think i may have ever had. The waiter was like having a butler serve you.
The food was exceptional... I had lovely calimari and a blue ribeye steak which was perfect...
Reasonably priced for a retaurant of that quality...

Went to Pho last night

Decent enough, lovely pork spring rolls and the other starters were decent. Noodle dish I had (didn't have a Pho which seems to have been an error) wasn't exactly generous with the meat (as with most of these style of restaurants) and that let them down. Enjoyed it but will probably stick to a selection of their starters next time.

7/10
