This was a situation that was bound to happen at some point in the season. Corporate hospitality either entertaining clients or handing out tickets inevitably means having away fans in the 1901 areas. My theory is that the club do not want to follow a line of inquiry that leads to upsetting someone important in the business community. Without any CCTV evidence I think the witness account from an off duty police officer is all too damming and virtually impossible to overturn by appeal.

We have no evidence but it's possible and you're not the first to say this. What I think, as other 1901 members have said elsewhere, is that it perhaps highlights the club's mis-selling of the 1901 area as a home area. Plenty of people have said they were told this and clearly it isn't. Club have done a few U-turns since the stadium went live after all. Hopefully they'll see sense for this poor chap and he'll be back supporting Albion for a 26th season on the trot as a STH.

That is the whole point why is there no CCTV evidence and why should an off duty police officer's word be any more accurate than other independant witnesses. Has a police officer never over emphasised a point that suits his purpose. I do not know the rights or wrongs of this I just saw, as others did, a family celebrating the Palace goal and a number of BHA fans reacting to this.

I'm going to close this thread and I politely request people refrain from starting similar ones.

My previous post on this thread has been ignored and people are still speculating and damning the club for something they know little or nothing about. There is an important element of this issue which has not been discussed here, and neither do I expect it to be. As such ongoing speculation is not doing anyone any good.

I thank the chap concerned for sharing his tale on here, and wish him well in getting back to watching the Albion as soon as possible as I doubt I'm alone in thinking how difficult an exclusion from Albion games would be.

If anyone cares what I think, I'm happy to say that I have no reason to believe the club are seeking to ban people from the Amex without good cause and I truly believe there is a wish for a noisy, passionate, intimidating atmosphere at the Amex that helps lift the Albion onto greater things.

If you don't care what I think then ignore that sentence, but be assured I am not, and never will be, a club apologist.
