The number is capped at 17,000. Last season they sold 15001.

They also get extra income from the Giants.

Well, had to google it obviously but 'Giants' is apparently a Rugby League team of some sort. Then had to google Rugby League. And turns out, surprisingly, it IS played in the Sarf. One game I spotted on wikipedia was 'London Skolars vs Hemel Stags'. Could have googled it further but was all googled out. Couldn't some ultra-smart B&H-based entrepreneur, possibly with the initials TB, just start up a Rugby League club from scratch, maybe call it 'Brighton Behemoths' or something ("Come on, you MOTHS!) and at least partially fill the ground on all those unused Saturdays during the football season. Might have to install some odd-shaped goalposts and play with odd-shaped balls, but seemed to do the Rugby World Cup no harm at all.

It's about proportionate with, say, housing costs between Brighton and Huddersfield, so taking into account the competition locally etc it sounds pretty comparable with what we have anyway from a relative COL perspective

Rugby League started in Huddersfield, so I just presumed people knew the Giants were the rugby team.

As an aside, some of the Town fans are a bit worried about the state of their pitch for their remaining home games.

They also have a ground that is paid for (or not much left to pay) and know that if they go up TV money is their main income. If they remain in this division it's carry on as before.

According to Wikipaedia

Jump to Ownership - Following the purchase of Huddersfield Town F.C. from the administrators, Ken Davy became chairman of both sports clubs, which are owned by companies he controls. The present ownership of the stadium is Ken Davy's company, Huddersfield Sporting Pride owns 60% and Kirklees Metropolitan Council 40%

Bradford City do similar, hence they're getting crowds of 18,000+ in League One. Some enlightened chairmen up there, although I appreciate it's a case of needs must for both sides after crowds had stagnated before these offers. Huddersfield's is relatively new, but Bradford have done something along these lines for several years now.

Would we ever do anything like this ....

Huddersfield Season Tickets
Adults - £199
8-17 years - £79
U8's - £29

Seeing as they could go up aswell, that is fantastic from their club, fair play!
I can't believe that they haven't announced a lower price if they are promoted as the price for each game will go up, in fact because of the TV money they should let everyone in for free and pay for away fans' transport. FFS Davy - how GREEDY can you get!

I was thinking the two clubs shared the rent of the stadium? I don't know.

This from Wiki ! for what it's worth !

Huddersfield Giants[edit]
In 1996, Davy took over as chairman of Huddersfield Giants Rugby League club. In 1999, he merged Huddersfield Giants with Sheffield Eagles, a move which resulted in the formation of the Huddersfield-Sheffield Giants. It was an unpopular move with supporters. After one season the club reverted to being the Huddersfield Giants.

During Davy's chairmanship Huddersfield Giants played St. Helens in the Rugby League 2006 Challenge Cup Final at Twickenham Stadium, London on Saturday 26 August 2006. It was the first time that the Giants had reached the final since 1962. Also during Davy's chairmanship, Huddersfield Giants won the League Leaders Shield for the first time in 81 years, after a 40-0 victory over Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

Huddersfield Town[edit]
Davy lead the successful consortium, out of three interested, that took over Huddersfield Town in 2003, when they were in administration following the collapse of ITV Digital and Town's recent relegation to the Football League's bottom tier. As part of the takeover Huddersfield Towns 40% share in the ground was transferred to a holding company called Huddersfield Sporting Pride Ltd. Huddersfield Sporting Pride Ltd holds a 60% stake in the Huddersfield ground with the combined original stakes of the football and rugby club, the other 40% stake is owned by Kirklees Council.

In September 2006, he was criticised for failing to offer Town a significant transfer budget for the 2006–07 season to enable the club to build on their play-off position of the previous season. The budget, which was unspecified, was (according to former manager Peter Jackson) already been used up on signing just two players, goalkeeper Matt Glennon and striker Luke Beckett despite the release of Tony Carss, David Graham, Junior Mendes, Phil Senior, and Anthony Lloyd. However, Davy openly stated that Jackson was given the opportunity to strengthen his squad in order to mount a drive for promotion. This was not utilised and Jackson's "inability to attract key players" was one of the reasons given by Davy for the manager's dismissal.[4]

After Huddersfield's 2–3 loss to Yeovil Town on 16 September 2006, he addressed a peaceful demonstration of around 100 Town fans who had called for him to up the transfer budget or go, because of Town's poor start to the season in Football League One in which they only picked up nine points from the first nine games.

On 3 June 2009, he handed over the chairmanship to Dean Hoyle, and after a brief period of retaining a minority shareholding relinquished all ownership in Huddersfield Town[5

So God knows who owns it now and soz to waste so much of your life with that !
