I have to agree with Kinky here. Ever since Hart came back into the side following that nasty leg break he had he's not been the same player and has regressed since. We ahve better young players than him coming through who should be finding themselves on the bench over Hart. We should not stick with the players that are the fans favourites and loyal servants if they are not good enough, I think that mistake has been made in the past. The likes of Hart, Mayo and soon to be Butters should be told thank you, but you're services are no longer required (though I think we can get another season out of Butters and hope he stays on at the club in a coaching role or summat).

Why can't you just accept the fact that we have moved on and they will leave the club at the end of the season.
We have a lot of very talented youngsters who are the future as opposed to players on contracts that are archaic to say the least.
At the risk of incurring NMH's wrath I would say that Harty is better than El Abd and able to be as versatile in filling in a right back or midfield. He is definitely worth keeping on the bench. I'm not referring to other players who are also on games played contracts.

How come he never gets on the bench then ?
Where would Hart play though? He's pretty much limited to right back due to lack of pace and we have Whing and El-Abd there. Out of El Abd and Hart surely El Abd is the preferred choice given that he can cover centre back and isn't a bad holding midfielder when we need a destroyer.

Some people are very narrow minded. I was trying to point out that of the 2 sides playing he would have only been good enough for Crawley Down not BHA.
I feel that he should follow Chippy's example and move to a side equivalent to Lewes as I think that he would struggle in the Conference with the likes of Aldershot Crawley etc. He has been great for us but there is not 1 single position that he would come in the top 4 of at Brighton, so to even get on the bench he would have to have the 2 first choice players injured or suspeneded.

That's not necessarily true, when choosing your subs, though.
You only have 5, and you want to cover all your bases. Once you've picked a sub keeper, an attacking option and a CB, you are left with 2 spaces to cover all eventualities. It makes sense to choose players who can cover a multitude of positions, such as Reid and Hart, even if there might be one or two others available who are better in one particular position.
