he was in the stand last night and i cant be bothered to go all the way dow to southampton as there is champions league games on

Just kicked off. Quite literally SIX albion here.

Thornton CM with Fraser.

Saints include Schneiderlin, Jason Euell, Bartosz Bialkowski and a striker called Pekhart who is an actual real life GIANT.

Ht 1-0. Playing well. Robinson, cox and Louis could all have added another. Bialkoski playing well. Top save from a Thornton free kick, too.

Thornton excellent, always wanting the ball off the defenders and carrying it.

Hinsh looks fine. Winning his fair share in the air against the GIANT too.

Still 1-0. Robinson just hit the bar with a brilliant first time chip, from 30yds. Louis should have put the rebound away.

Bizarre last minute. We got a free kick on the edge of the box. Thornton took it quickly amd scored, but the ref said he wasn't ready and it had to be taken again.

Cox put it down, took a step back, and the ref blew for time!

Still they looked pretty pleased. Saints had won 4 out of 5 games, losing only to reading before tonight.

Kane Louis sounded lively, maybe he'll make the bench on Saturday?

Maybe Robinson has now done enough to earn himself a place on the bench at the weekend!? Maybe it might be an idea for MA to play someone upfront with Murray who can chip in with a goal from time to time ???

No way would loius be ahead of Robinson on that showing. He missed twice from 5 yards, and generally not a great game for him. Worked hard though, and wins a lot of flick ons.

Sullivan had a good game. Caught every cross, commanded the defence, kicked well.

Chamberlain was poor - gave the ball away time and again in dangerous areas.

Cook struggled badly at left back, though I think he is really a CB, so not reading too much into that.

Hinsh and Pearson were both excellent in the middle. Won everthing. Hinsh played the whole 90 without probs. Hope he wakes up okay today.

Fraser, Thornton, Whing and Cox all looked good, as you'd expect at that level.

Good news about Hinsh. I hope he gets at least another month of reserve games under his belt before first team action.
