I wonder if there will ever be official "rules" on this - how many points do you get for one unit of rep? I'd like to think it's quite random. I'm finding it quite hard to decide whether to use thumbs or rep now. It's beginning to resemble a sinister social experiment.

I think [MENTION=6886]Bozza[/MENTION] has said this depends on who is giving you the rep. So a user with higher rep will award higher points when giving out rep. (I think)

You can see how much rep you give out on the page which shows your rep, on the top banner of 'Rep given'

You can only see it when someone gives you rep, which is a bit noddy.
And it should not be anonymous.
