Last time I went to Hull was the best we've ever played. Hull didn't touch the ball for the first half an hour & we went two up.
Somehow they got it back to 2-2 but up popped Terry Connor to score the winner with a diving header that has never been bettered, right in front of the away fans.

Just booked the Ibis Hotel which is just outside Hull railway station for £31. I have free rail travel and a free match ticket and also a weeks leave next week, so I couldn't turn this opportunity down. I just hope the game itself is better than Derby or Watford recently

Superb gesture from the club and much appreciated. However I do not get free travel and overnight accommodation is not an option due to family and work. For the first time this season I am unable to go but a cosy night in with ITV4, a litre of Diamond White with a JUMBO pack of Iced Gems will soften the blow. Bloody JCLs.

Once they came up with the idea of offering a free ticket, I bet someone said "I bet you any money some bloody fans find fault with it'

Shocking. Sadly some similar posts on the clubs Facebook page, but thankfully many sane ones too.

Has any club in recent times offered a free ticket for a game thst has not been abandoned? I know some clubs have had a pay what you want policy, but this is usually some promo at a poorly supported league 2 club and not at a premiership club for a place in the quarter finals of the FA cup.

Everyone who goes will be rewarded by the club. Granted, not many will be persuaded but it's a gesture to the hardy soles who are going anyway. Just like the free drink at Middlesbrough. Am guessing it was the same bunch who found fault with this too.

As for the moron remark. I'm sorry if you thought this was at your personally. I can see how you did as I quoted your post. However I stand by my stance that anyone who faults the club for this gesture is moronic.

The bottom line is that everyone who goes gets £15 back. This will be spent at future games instead of other cash. If it was done on travel, those of us who are elsewhere over the weekend and those who don't live locally can still benefit from the saving. I really can't see why anyone needs to nit-pick and try to find anything negative in what the club have announced.

After the debacle of the uni parking last night, this has cheered me up no end - even though it's not definite that I'll take up the offer.

Last season we really gave Hull the run around at their place in the opening game of the season. We played some beautiful stuff for about 75 minutes, had something like 18 decent goal attempts and really silenced the home fans...............but we then let in a soft-ish winner. Ironically if we had taken the 3 points in that game we probably wouldn't have needed the play offs.

I recall one beautiful move when we stifled a Hull attack, a 50 yard pass came out of our box to Noone who left their defender for dead and crossed the ball for CMS arriving at high speed into their box who really stretched for a diving header and their keeper tipped the ball onto the bar, would have been a stunning goal. Box to box in about 5 seconds and while most other players were still in our last third.

The weather always seems to be extreme when we are at the KC - sub zero or steaming hot.

The one in town, not far from station. Comes up at £27, so I googled Travelodge discount codes and found one for a £5. Not bad! And it's a Family room!!

I would also thank the club for their generous offer, well done. But now the negatives. It's only a £15 ticket at the most. Generally clubs offer free transport for anyone with a ticket. And to quote Paul Barber - "Chief executive, Paul Barber, said, “The potential for progressing further in The FA Cup is an exciting prospect and, as ever, our supporters can play an important role in helping the team on the night." If the potential is so great then why not play a stronger team last Monday in front of 21,000 paying supporters and win in one?

Can't help but feel that whilst any such offer is obviously welcome, if the intention was to help supporters play an important role in helping the team on the night, then presumably the more supporters the better and a slightly more generous offer which attracts an even greater number of fans such as with free or subsidised coach travel may have been a better option?

I can't help but feel that an offer such as this which in real terms is going to cost the club around 5k could have been better considered.

Me too. Haven't checked whether the £1.50 booking fee has been credited back to my e-cash- I'm pretty sure it won't have been- but I don't care.
