Fleetwood is having a great season at the mo and was considered for a long time to better than Cameron Jerome. Might be worth a punt?

Take it from me, Stuart Fleetwood is having a superb season, he has managed roughly a goal a game...the majority of which have involved him taking on a couple of defenders and slotting the ball past the keeper. I can't think of many players I have seen play recently who have been more composed on the ball or pacier in the last third of the pitch, he is fairly similar in many respects to our own Nicky Forster.

It is fairly well known in these parts that it may only take a serious offer over £100k to secure his services, he is on a one year contract and the Board of Directors at FGR may well cash in on the goose that lays the golden eggs before he can walk for nowt at the end of the season. Apparently Chelts have already made an offer, this was reputedly laughed at as they wanted him on loan to start off with. It would be a risk buying him as he did spend a fair amount of time out with a serious injury but that said I think he could make the jump of a couple of leagues and the prospect of seeing him play alongside Forster is a mouth-watering one.

that is true - because it was out of the transfer window, they wanted him on-loan in order to sign him straight away, and then i presume a cash deal once the window was open

instead, they went after madjo from crawley - and he looks like a bit of a savage. think cheltenham may go after him again now the window is open - especially as steven gillespie is attracting the interest of bigger and better clubs

I thought Gillespie from Cheltenham looked useful. Has scored against us twice this season. Not that tall though so depends on what kind of striker we are looking for.

Possibly more of a left winger than a forward but a great buy would be George Boyd from Peterboro. Two years ago was the best player in the conference and his nickname 'The White Pele' has continued at Peter. Possibly their best player and still in his early twenties. Would link up really well with Forster. However. Peterboro may want more than 200k for him.

Seriously, anyone know how many games he's played as a starter (moreover, finished). Bas was exactly the same by other club fans comments prior to his arrival at the Albion and he's been quite a success. That's why I'm championing Elder been given a further run out.

from 'soccerbase'

1 start in the league
1 start in th JPT
19 games as sub

1 goal

throughout his career Zamora has rarely been a scoring sub but has been prolific when starting

That was of course the plan that Chelts had, they needed to bring someone in immediately to try and score some goals for them, however I don't think that they play the type of football that would suit Fleets. I understand that Jim Harvey, the FGR manager, bases a fair amount of his tactics on delivering the ball at pace and on the ground for Fleetwood to run onto.

I have seen Madjo play a couple of times, you are right in saying that he is more of a Savage type player, certainly what used to be called a "bustling centre forward", more likely to win balls in the air than anything else...in fact he would probably lose in a game of snap against a four year old.

I would be surprised if Gillespie doesn't move elsewhere when that window opens again, my tip is Bristol City.

we must move now for replacements. I think if Wilkins works his magic in the transfer market and we can secure someone like Fleetwood and a a couple of other Frenchies we can continue pushing for playoffs. I hope any prospective strikers look at how Wilkins turned Baz into a goal-scoring striking threat rather than a lumbering mule; i bet he could work wonders with Fleetwood. My two choices would be fleeetwood and gillespie

what do people feel about the chances of landing two players like this?

If not, we are doomed for a relegation battle. I know that Fleetwood is high on many league one club wishlist (Gillingham tried recently)

Well from the stats I think it has to be Fleetwood - he's certainly scoring loads in the Conference.

has anyone heard if we are tracking him? Would it be worth asking the club? I'm a newbie on this facility?

Fleetwood scored two more today, both clinically taken by beating defenders and slotting the ball past the keeper, every time you see him running at a defence you just know that a goal will probably be the result.

Honestly what chance have we got of signing either Fleetwood or Gillespie..absolutely none because they will be too expensive

The player I reckon who might be on the move, possibly before Fleetwood or Gillespie, is Demontagnac from Walsall...he is a very gifted young man, destined to be a name we won't forget in a hurry, if he gets picked up by the right team.
