Maybe fixtures with a really dreary thread title, but not seen this on here anywhere.

Just to zap the remainder of mid-sussex Albion fans who were willing to forego watching the game in the pub, the rail network has put the final nail in the coffin of the sunday attendance figures.

I personally know of one person who would have gone on the promise of a near-to-free ticket for the game, but just can't be arsed with the hassle of the bus/train crap.

IMHO Dick Knight and the board should be on hand to PERSONALLY hand out gold SUPERFAN badges to anybody who lives outside the immediate boundary of Brighton & Hove and who willingly submits to this third world form of transport and willingly parts with twenty five notes to willingly sit in a puddle of water while being scowled at by stewards like they were some kind of CRIMINAL.

I salute all 4000 of you

I'd be pissed off if I had a season ticket - the last time I got a replacement bus to Withdean it broke down on route, and we had to wait for another bus to come out and pick us up........:lolol:

have taken the car ever since when there are train problems!

In all fairness to southern, It's network rail that plan these engineering works and a lot of it would've been planned before the fixtures were released.

On the days when the rail system desends into chaos, would it be viable for the club to run shuttle buses from key point ie Burgess Hill, Haywards heath, worthing etc direct to the ground??

Burgess Hill
Bugger, I had plans to get the train from Burgess Hill into Brighton, meet Guinness Boy at the Duke of Wellington, and taxi it to the ground just before kick off

Now I've gotta leave earlier and get the f'ing bus, or get someone to drop me off, and then I have the hassle of getting home again

Well that's me not coming now.

Call me a fairweather fan if you like but with the reduced service of trains on a Sunday anyway, coupled with the unreliability of the replacement buses, early kick-off with my inevitable Sunday morning hangover, the easy option of watching the game at my local (despite being in Millwall territory!) and the cost of a ticket in the first place, it's all adding up.

I don't suppose there are other Burgess Hillians out there who'd give me a lift to Withdean on Sunday? or even better, to Brighton station for a couple of pre-match bevvies?

In a cave
Its strange how we fought like anything to save our club from Archer and Belotti but now that the football is not quite so good and the trains are up the spout it becomes easy to miss a game.

Brighton supporters are a strange bunch. We demand Falmer, we think we are a big club with the best and noisiest supporters in the land, but a replacement bus service means that we shall stay at home!

Well we will be driving back down from Manchester for the game, if it rains or looks like being cold, or we come across some road works does that mean we are allowed to go straight home and not have to sit through the 90 minutes of rubbish at Withdean?

I thought being a supporter meant putting yourself out for the club? Perhaps these days it means posting more messages to NSC than anyone else to prove just how great a fan you are!

Get yourself to Withdean and get behind Wilkins and the players.

I wont say keep the faith, as I will follow the Albion who through thick and thin.

Rant over - having a bad day - roll on Saturday at Old Trafford, Sunday at Withdean and Wednesday in Zagreb, unless its raining in which case I will stay snuggled up in bed at home!

Apologies for not being as big an Albion (and England) supporter as you.

I shall now go and hang my head in shame! :salute:

Since I'd have to get the bleeding bus at some point anyway, I've booked a seat on National Express from Streatham. No changes and a more comfy bus at least which may even, with a following wind, make it to Brighton.

Could the attendance drop below 5000? Unattractive oppo's, bad weather lately, train trouble, piss poor form. Can't say I'm overly excited by the prospect of this one. A nice win is in order, please lads....
