Had a Grand Scenic for the past year and it is great as a family car, although slow and wobbly.

Agree about the keyless card, it's a gimmick, and an expensive one if your pupply chews it to pieces and you get charged £120 for a replacement.

On balance I would go for one though, but make sure you have it inspected prior to purchase

I don't like the Scenic - not a fan of MPV's in the slightest, and having driven one I think they are slow, corner like wombats and the brakes to say the least were like sponges. HOWEVER, I can see the benefits - high loading for kids and car seats which is fantastic for your back, decent-ish boot area, and fairly-ish economical.

My suggestions would be as follows:

Look at the Suburu Forrester - not to everyones taste cosmetically, but they are tall to save your back, economical, great to drive, estate car boot and stop on a dime....also Subaru's have a life expectancy of eons... (we had a Liberty and it was fantastic!! although lower than Forrester)

We also had a Ford Mondeo - again brilliant car (new shape one) also the attention to detail in the finish wasn't there. Economical and loads of room.

However my daily driver for Arthur (7 months) and I - is a 1963 Ford Cortina which is also fantastic...

there speaks a wise woman ;)

the SUbaru legacy estate pisses all over the average 'family' car and is very well priced, excelllently appointed, and doubles up as a decent car for Dad when he fancies a 'spin in the motor'

I have had one since 1999 and it is a superb reliable car. I believe they are also the safest in it's class.

My wife's aunty and uncle had theirs totalled by a car and caravan hopping the barrier on the A27 at Falmer and going straight into them last october and they come out just badly bruised. The recovery company couldn't believe that anyone survived the crash.

I'd definitely have another
