From 2011

Another Brazilian comes under the gaze but this one is slightly different as he is already producing the goods in Europe, although most people would not have heard of him.

BATE Borisov star Renan Bressan, despite being Brazil-born, is an adopted Belarussian and has made his debut for the national side. Have Brazil seen another prospect slip through their grasp? Quite possibly.

Bressan started out playing for his local side in Brazil, Atletico Tubarao, but before he had made the breakthrough into their first-team he was spotted by an Eastern European scout during a trial game.

After being approached about a possible move he agreed to the switch and at 19 he was on his way to Europe - but he was not quite sure where.

Talks with Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kiev came to nothing, as did a possible move to Karpaty Lviv. Talks with Polish and Turkish clubs also fail to materialise, which is when the Belarus interest emerged.

Vitebsk failed to agree a deal but then he was snapped up by Gomel. After three years showing he has adapted to life not just in Europe, but to Belarus, he was signed by domestic giants BATE.

At Gomel he was very much a playmaker, always attack minded, but with just seven goals in just over 70 games it was hard to see what was to come in BATE.

Bressan took to life with BATE straight away and scored on his league debut. 14 more goals followed in his first year and 13 the year after - a remarkable record for a midfielder.

Played very much in the 'Kaka' role just behind the front man, Bressan is also helping BATE making an impression on the European stage with recent goals against the likes of AC Milan and Paris Saint Germain.

Bressan, who is also something of a free-kick specialist, is unsurprisingly now attracting attention from around Europe with his goalscoring exploits and undoubted technical ability.

Bressan has quickly become a much-loved character in Belarus and earlier in 2012 he gladly accepted their request to represent the country.

The 23-year-old made his full international debut against Moldova and looks to be a huge coup for Belarus.
