There are far deserving cases of Albion heroes / iconic moments than his.

How many playoff finals have we won in front of 65,000 people, of which 30k were Albion fans? That is definitely one of the most iconic moments in my Brighton supporting lifetime. Anyone that doesn't get goosebumps thinking about that goal and the celebrations that resulted afterwards and after the game is lying, or just don't like football.

We havent had that many promotions in our history and if you score 20 + in a promotion season then you have to be up there IMO

True, but then the hand-wringing, in the belief that the blinkered association of a vacuous little turd with the Albion is OK, won't sit well with people of even half-decent moral fibre.

Adrian Thorne
Gary Stevens
Alan Mullery (an appalling omission)
Willie Irvine
Peter Harburn
Arthur Attwood

are all more deserving cases IMO.

True.

But while you can't re-write history, to have a continued association of an iconic image of a given person, when that person is such an appalling individual, goes against the values that the club believes it stands for.

I don't buy for a second, in this instance, the awful consideration that this person is judged by one moment alone.

Why does everyone want Kuipers or Hart on there? Both fantastic servants to the club but never really produced anything out of the ordinary to deserve the accolade of going on the wall. Buckley has had more memorable moments than them. Replace it with Gritt.
I thought it was all players?

Pretty obvious the reasons for Hart or Kuipers though.

Upon consideration of the full facts and the appalling sap twitter regardless of whether Knight is mentally ill, which I strongly believe he is, what he has done this time is beyond the pale and I agree with TLO that he should no longer be associated with the club on the legends wall. Some things are just unforgiveable so I have changed my mind and would now vote yes. I would like to put forward Ian Chapman as he was a BHAFC legend for me, refused to talk to Palace when they were interested and was an honourable man of great integrity, resigning when he felt Dean Wilkins had been badly treated to his own detriment. Having met him a few times , he is also a cracking good and decent bloke.

Even if we're dealing with iconic moments, surely Storer has a better case?

Someone also said Gary Nelson and would also add him to the list.

Some you mention of course should be there as well not instead of Knight

I'm going for a wander around the stadium on the way home, and I'll check to see if Nelse is there. I thought he was already.

If it celebrated the moment, fine - there's a different argument to be had.

But it doesn't - it celebrates the individual, and it appears you're happy for the club to celebrate a repugnant individual. For me, you can't have Leon Knight the Albion penalty-taker without having Leon Knight, the shithead.

The guy is legendary though? Talked about far more on here than OGH or FDM for one thing.

and that photo of him is one of the most iconic photos in our history. Stay put say I.

I thought that but have changed my mind. Under what circumstances should an individual be removed for the sake of good taste ?

I dunno. I don't really know what Knight's done to deserve this thread. But I'll start you off with 'if Bobby Zamora was to murder a group of people and bury them in the woods, his image should be removed from the legend's wall'

Lets just hope it doesn't happen.
