REMF moan

Not against anyone involved in the running.

But as someone who turned up at 2.15pm to hand out flyers and is not playing this year I have to say it was disappointing not to see more (any?) of the players playing in this year's game giving them out.

The Large One and Uncle Spielberg do a GREAT job but need support from others.

Without starting a BINFEST (honestly, that is the last thing I want) I think people who are playing should be turning up and flyering. Almost the entire squad did last season.

In my opinion EVERYONE who is involved on the night with the squad should be making the effort, whoever they are.

The REMF is a great charity and people should be showing TLO and US a bit more support.

This thread has been made every single year since I joined this board (and the year before where I just read it) and honestly I don't know why nothing has changed, they are there to raise money for charity, now I'm sure that some are working, but that surely cannot be the case for everyone and you would expect to see the rest of the squad there, from what I gather in the past one or two have commented they are some how above it? That's definitely not right.

Last year most of the squad turned up.

If you work or play on Saturdays that is fair enough. But I saw some people AT THE GAME who had not bothered.

Moan over.

Shouldn't be playing on the day, end of. It's not about personal glory, it's about raising money for a very (very) worthwhile cause.

Some players last year came and flyer'd despite not having a ticket for that afternoon's match at Withdean...

I have played before and flyering is the LEAST that should be expected of the players.

If I were playing, I'd be down there every game with or without a ticket, although having seen just where the money goes and the happiness it brings people, I guess I'm more motivated than I otherwise would be, people just seem to be in it for entirely the wrong reasons.

Who organizes the flyer handing out? I'll PM them an offer of assistance for next week.

The match is next Friday. Having effectively "paid" for a place in the squad, perhaps people don't feel that they need to hand out flyers too.

Ahh so it is, never mind then. I havn't been following the REMF 'festivities' so far this season, how much was the contribution paid? Although a charitable donation to play in a charity match is not really a large price to pay.

Possibly. But regardless, surely you would want as many people to turn up as possible on the night.

I may be wrong (and a thousand appologies to anyone who did hand out flyers but I just didn't see them), but I don't think any of the squad were there.

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
I can see where you are coming from. It would be nice to have the players handing them out, but it also gives an opportunity for those with two left feet to help out.

I had fun with Beach Hut before havingt to leave him to give Gwylan some magazines.

I should have accosted Edna. It didn't register who she was until she was out of reach - the limping gave it away.

Hot day. Towards the end of an hour of shouting, I was clamouring 'Bristol' instead of 'Crystal'.

The ticket didn't materialise in the end and I watch 15% of the pitch for the first half.

And I met the legendary Jack Straw - without a visible camera.

I saw a very handsome TLO handing out flyers. Looked to be doing a fab job.
I didn't take one, as I already know about it. Save the planet and all that.

(I did however get handed a flyer for an anti-EDL march, with an EDL/Albion flag printed across the front).

A few people I handed flyers to made comments about Leon Knights name on the flyer :lolol:

Must admit several people queried with me whether he will actually turn up or not.

Have to say I was impressed with the amount of people who stopped to take a flyer and had kind words about REMF, equally I was bemussed by some people who just rudely passed by and grunted as they did so!
