Hi all,
Just a bit of an update on Team Thunder from Kenya. REMF kindly donated a significant amount of money to help with a team out here in Nairobi. Thanks to the money donated we have managed to get kits for an under 9s, under 11s, under 13s, under 15s and under 17 squads. We have also paid for boots, bibs, balls, pitches and referees for the season.
The under 17s team won promotion last season and now begin in the top flight of amateur football in Nairobi. The under 11s, 13s and 15s all sit top of their respective leagues. Thank you once again to all those who have donated, you are honestly changing lives out here. Many of the boys are off the streets, kicked the alcohol/drugs and have a purpose to get up each day.
We are now looking to pay for a few of the lads to get into a vocational college to get a trade such as plumbing or mechanics so that they can improve their lives even more. The next purchase will be a new kit in blue and white stripes
Much love and Peace from all here in Africa
