Ok, for all golfers and non-golfers. I’d like to announce that the fourth REMF Charity Golf Day will take place on Friday 11th June at Mid-Sussex G.C. in Ditchling and we need everyone’s support.

Anyone entering the competition is guaranteed a great day. Just ask those from NSC who have played in previous REMF Charity Golf days. Any standard of golf is acceptable. We used to find around 16 Albion golfers for the match against Palace, so why not enter. If you can’t make up a 4-ball, then let me know, as there will be others in a similar position and I’m quite happy to put golfers together to create the teams. (This includes Dave the Gaffer).
The format is similar to previous years. On arrival, participants will be welcomed with bacon rolls and tea or coffee. The entered four balls will then play 18 holes of golf, scoring in a stableford format. The winning team and runners up will all receive really excellent trophies. There will also be prizes for certain "Nearest the Pin" holes. On top of this, there will be a prize on every hole! Not having a very good round collectively? So what, you’ve still got up to hole 18 to grab a prize.
This will be followed by an excellent 4 course meal, after which will come the raffle, and presentations. We have already been promised some excellent raffle prizes, (total prize value of up to £2,000), so come and have some of it.

So how can everyone support the day?

First, by entering the competition as a four ball will cost £55 per person, same price as last year. This is great value as can be seen from above.

Second, we're looking for sponsors, either individuals or companies, to sponsor a hole for £50. What do you get for this? Well, it's a charity donation so will be tax deductible. Your name (or your company's name) will be on prominent view at the hole you sponsor so all participants will know who you are. You will also be in the official program showing your sponsorship. We shpuld also be receiving newspaper and radio media coverage. (We’re hoping that Robyn will “big” us up on Talksport)

Thirdly, if you would like to donate a raffle prize this will be gratefully received and will also be recorded in the official program.

And finally, if you don’t want to play golf but would like to be involved in a fabulous day by having the 3-course meal and be there for the presentations and raffle, then this too is possible. Just see the contact details below.

We hope to have some celebrities entering as well, but more about these later. We know that the readers and posters of this message board are second to none, so let's prove it once again.

For any further information on how to enter, sponsor or donate, either pm me through NSC, email me on t.langridge@virgin.net or ring me on 07860 371461 any time.

I hope to hear from many of you.

Mods, please make this a sticky.

Tony......

P.S. any of you that have posted about golf in the past year can expect a pm from me if you don’t reply.

I can confirm that what he says is true.

Its a top day out. His brilliant organisation, from your arrival through to post golf meal, drinks, raffle, even extends to Tony personally arranging and guaranteeing warm sunny weather.

Don't miss it this year

Due to past work commitments i've not been able to make this, but this year(finally) its different... I can't get a 4 ball together, but if there's a space i'll take it

Cheers!

Hi scooter1,

rest assured, you'll be made most welcome. I get a few guys that would like to enter, so from those, I make up 4-balls. The one thing they all have in common is NSC or the Albion.

If you can pm me your name and address, I'll post an entry letter and form to you.

Regards,

Tony.....

This seems like fun. Just wondering will everyone play of scratch or does everyone have to show handicap certificates or just say for an example that I play of 28?

I can’t make a 4 ball but would be interested to make one. The idea of trophies and prices excites me

Hi Helter,

as golfers are generally honest, we would take their word for the handicap that they say they play off. There's no problem with you entering on your own as I put 4-ball together for quite a few. You'll have a great day out and meet some seriously good guys.

If you can pm me your name and address, I'll put an entry letter and form in the post.

Cheers,

Tony....

Hi Helter,

that's really great. As before, if you can pm me your name and address, I'll get the letter and form out to you. Let me have it back when you've got all you can get, whether it's just yourself, or 2 or 3 or 4 doesn't matter. I'll still be able to make you up to a 4-ball. Let me know in a couple of weeks how it's going ands we'll take it from there.

Cheers,

Tony....
