Believe in yourself - because you are the only influence you have. And try to be kind.

Please don't imply I'm being silly when you failed to see the rest of the topic title in the first post:
Also I never made any assertion in respect of this. I merely showed religious connotations to things you purported to not contain any.
If god created creatures and humans together why didn't they dinosaurs eat us? And why didn't they eat Noah and everything on his ark? Why did the one animal top of the food chain die out before the rest of us? ANSWER ME THAT GOD WORSHIPERS
People can believe what they want. But when they band it around as fact, that's what annoys me. Talking snake? Fact?
In RE at school, it's fine that they teach children what various religions believe - but to tell children we were created by (a) god and that the nativity story is real.. That's brainwashing.
how can you not understand that you don't actually know if there is a god or not, because you won't find out until you are dead - and there are no dead people to actually ask and document from?
and how can this be comparable to santa claus?
you can spout opinion as fact all you want, and try to belittle me all you want - but you just look like a close-minded, smug idiot to me.....
I've been dead for a couple of minutes after a cardiac arrest, it's was just very very black for me
You might have woken up in a box in heaven, you never know![emoji53]
Only in Northern Ireland and that is based on historical events not purely religious differences. Time will, hopefully, heal this rift.
The Earth...its size is perfect. The Earth's size and corresponding gravity holds a thin layer of mostly nitrogen and oxygen gases, only extending about 50 miles above the Earth's surface. If Earth were smaller, an atmosphere would be impossible, like the planet Mercury. If Earth were larger, its atmosphere would contain free hydrogen, like Jupiter. Earth is the only known planet equipped with an atmosphere of the right mixture of gases to sustain plant, animal and human life.
Well then your god is a bl00dy genius then - to design an earth that is "perfect" but to then design creatures that survive despite having no access to any of the perfect features. There are things that live miles under the sea which have no access to oxygen, light or the perfect temperature. I guess they just EVOLVED in spite of god. This debate reminds me of when I went to Colorado and got talking to the locals!
Rangers and Celtic?
Russia is a homophobic nation because of religion.
North Korea worship Kim Jong Un as their religion.
Religion cause more problems than it solves. Hitler took care of homeless people, banned hunting and was a vegetarian.
You see, you've missed the point again. I gave you some information, based on facts, I pointed out that there are a lot more of them than there are of you, and I explained that there are those that believe, and in what they believe. I stated my opinion on a couple of points. I certainly didn't state anywhere what my own personal beliefs are, and I won't.
As for science, this was written by a scientist, who used to be an Athiest.
Does God exist? The complexity of our planet points to a deliberate Designer who not only created our universe, but sustains it today.
Many examples showing God's design could be given, possibly with no end. But here are a few:
The Earth...its size is perfect. The Earth's size and corresponding gravity holds a thin layer of mostly nitrogen and oxygen gases, only extending about 50 miles above the Earth's surface. If Earth were smaller, an atmosphere would be impossible, like the planet Mercury. If Earth were larger, its atmosphere would contain free hydrogen, like Jupiter. The Earth is located the right distance from the sun. Consider the temperature swings we encounter, roughly -30 degrees to +120 degrees. If the Earth were any further away from the sun, we would all freeze. Any closer and we would burn up. Even a fractional variance in the Earth's position to the sun would make life on Earth impossible. The Earth remains this perfect distance from the sun while it rotates around the sun at a speed of nearly 67,000 mph. It is also rotating on its axis, allowing the entire surface of the Earth to be properly warmed and cooled every day.
And our moon is the perfect size and distance from the Earth for its gravitational pull. The moon creates important ocean tides and movement so ocean waters do not stagnate, and yet our massive oceans are restrained from spilling over across the continents.
There are a number of other explainations for scientific phenomena she makes, about Water (H2O), The Human Brain, The Human Eye, The uniform laws of nature, DNA encoding, it's all quite interestingly put, and possibly more thought provoking than some of the things you've written on the subject.
What a load of unadulterated horse shit.
At least a quarter of the earth is uninhabitable, it's a dying planet, creatures get cancer and AIDS and die in excruciating pain by their billions, millions of species have died out because they were not "designed" suitably, the planet will only support life for an incomprehensively short amount of time, life on earth is constantly going over the edge of the balance.
If your God does exist, he's a pretty malevolent, spiteful God with a pretty poor eye for design.
Honestly, if Christian's use this sort of rhetoric to try and prove their insane theories no wonder they are increasingly mocked. Utter drivel and we are all worse off for having read it.
I certainly don't believe an atheist world would be a better place.
It's just sad that the believers in the Abrahamic religions can't accept that they believe essentially the same thing and agree to disagree on what are really very insignificant differences.
True, closely allied with the NI situation
