No, you just make Bill Hill £30 richer.

Tell you a story about William Hill when I was a kid.

There was a William Hill Bookmakers near where I lived and there was a guy who used to drive a Hilman Imp motor car who used to alway go into that shop.

My younger brother alway has been a big gambler even on fruit machines as a kid and he always wanted to work in a Bookies when he grew up.

I used to tell my Brother that the guy who drove the Hillman Imp was actually William Hill and the badge on the car was his private name plate.

For years my brother used to say " Hello Mr Hill " to that guy in the hope of getting a job there when he grew up. :)

Just 4 points above Fulham and 1 above Newcastle. Dont really understand betting but seems very long odds to me. Assume odds are based on perceived difficulty of remaining fixtures

...and current form.

Mostly bookie odds are based around liabilities.

Correct, look at Fulham’s fixtures after Palace.

Ours are on paper easier. Plus we have gd superiority which is worth a point. I always take solace from the bookies judgement, they’re more clinical and less emotionally involved than us.

It's just a snapshot of a continuing event.

If we assume Newcastle lose later, they'll be no better example than this thread at 10pm tomorrow.

A win and the Albion will be close to 90/1.
Lose and they'll be staring down the barrel of 5/1.

I’m pleased the bookies heavily back us but those odds on us look nuts to me . Maybe the bookies know how to spot a mid table team when they see one . Hopefully .

It's quite encouraging and relieving I agree, lads gotta keep working and plugging away as usual. Might be labelled as draw specialists, but it's points towards safety [emoji1305]

GP has got his hands very full trying to pick the lads up after last night. Their confidence must be shot to bits after not finding the net, AGAIN! We could go into freefall if we don't get anything from Saturday's game.

My fear too, although we have come off the back of a good run. I guess we’ll soon find out just how good GP is when the pressure is really on. It’s never dull following this club is it?

Hopefully the players are made of sterner stuff than some of the fans on here (me included this morning) :lolol:

I am still stunned this morning. I feel numb. We didn't deserve to lose that but in all honesty, did their keeper make any saves of note?

Difference was the quality of finishing, both Palace goals were excellent. As I said on another thread Potterball lost to Hughtonball. We pulled off some muggings like that for a couple of seasons. Would I want us to go back to playing like that? Nope I’d rather go down playing Potterball, but that’s just me.
