How did he miss Guendouzi grabbing Maupay round the throat and not take any action? Watching it again on MOTD it was right in front of him, hopefully will be in his report, wonder how long ban the idiot will get?

He's blown the final whistle so he can't send anyone off. The only thing he can do is include it in his match report.
At least reasonably sure on this.

Nah you can get sent off after the whistle I’m 99% sure.

I thought there was another incident when they were passing each other and it looked like he gave a proper punch? Only saw a long angle shot though.

The only reason Maupay went down like he'd been poleaxed was because he knew he had total 100% ownership of Gwen-Doozy.
At that point he was just f**king with him to see what would happen.
(not particularly sporting, no matter how funny - for us)
Sure enough he found out what would happen 30 secs later.

Maupay's ownership of Gwen will now stretch forward into Monday, then on further for (possibly) 3 more games.

1 match ban Maupay for simulation of a punch to the stomach.
1 match ban for Maupay for attaching neck to fist of Gwen-Doozy
1 match ban for Maupay for comments post match, bringing game into disrepute.
You just know that's how it works.

Summing it all up, the wrongs against BHA players, plus the fouls we may have committed ourselves, I thing what we are trying to say is that the ref was shit?

They're not a big club anymore.

I actually think his challenge on the goal keeper was unnecessary. No chance of winning the ball, although I'm sure he didn't want to injure him.
There I said it.

I rather Guendouzi didn’t get a ban. Maupay won the battle, we got the 3 points, we don’t have to play Arsenal again but some of the bottom teams do and want Arsenal to be in a position to beat them

I thought the ref was supposed to be Paul Tierney? Not sure why Martin Atkinson got the gig.

Atkinson was 4th official at Spurs on Friday I thought. If so where did he stay overnight?

He was listed as the ref in the news release on Tuesday: https://www.premierleague.com/news/1680076. Andre Marriner was assigned as the fourth official for Spurs v Man Utd. If it was Atkinson, it would have been a late replacement if Atkinson did it.

Martin Atkinson is listed as the fourth official for Man City v Arsenal, is it possible you've confused the games since they are all coming thick and fast at the moment?

I'm pretty sure that Guendouzi will get a ban. It's important to realise that Maupay is no angel though. His little walk on John McGinn's leg a couple of year's ago meant the passing of the 'no hothead's' test must have had a lower pass mark on his joining.

Maupay certainly has an edge to his game, but I wouldn't call him a hothead. To me, a hothead is someone who can be wound up and lose control; from what I've seen of Maupay, he can remain sufficiently in control of his emotions to avoid serious trouble (unlike, for instance, Knockaert). I think he is capable of shithousery to a degree we have rarely seen at Albion, and he is definitely one of those players who you love to hate when he plays for the opposition but love having on your own team.

Thing is that mop head wouldn’t do that to Maupay if it was just two of them in an empty room - I have no doubt in that instance Maupay would come out on top

Then reappear dusting his hands off talking about humility.

There is a nearly decent fan reaction piece, I think it's #90 something (you know where to find it) who makes the same point.

Clearly a scholar of the You Need 7 thread, chummy was bemoaning Arsenal's lack of fight.

Singling out Biss as our player who just wasn't scared and most importantly wasn't stopped.
They let him kick them up in the air.

Maupay received words to the effect of 'why point at him after the game, get at him during it'.

He's not wrong, proving once again the power of 7.
