Reds opinion is good - Poyet seems to be very popular there (from page 13)

A great atmosphere like no other in English football

Massive, massive cliché.

Some (and I stress some) of the people defending Suarez have embarrassed their club. There were large swathes of the crowd singing in his support yesterday. I accept they want to back their player, but defending the racist side of things has dropped that club down hugely in many people's opinions.

United fans at Anfield yesterday:

"It's never your fault
It's never your fault
You're always the victims
It's never your fault"

(I'm sure that doesn't entirely refer to Suarez, let's not be that naive, but Liverpool have let themselves down recently. For a club that have traditionally risen above controversy, it was something of a surprise).

They've been shite at anfield this season, constantly drawing games. I think the minnows from the south coAst are capable of stifling them and bringing them down here where anything could happen

They do seem very confident. It's not going to be as easy as they seem to think it will be.

Okay, they battered us in the first half down here, but once we lost the nerves, if we repeat our second half performance, it'll be a hell of a good game.

Baring in mind we put out a weaken side in the League Cup, I would not be at all surprised if we nick at least a draw up there.

If Liverpool fans are already looking at round six, I think they need to worry about round five first. We've beaten Newcastle and Sunderland, lost narrowly to Liverpool and Spurs this season.

If we are at full stregnth, and still on our good run of form, then Liverpool are going to be playing better than they are at the moment to walk into the sixth round.

Could be the shock of round 5.

I'm sorry but everything about you is embarassing

Probably a little too deep for you but never mind.
I will be in the Kop for the game with both my scarves on, surrounded by real fans who still know how to appreciate good football and fans whatever their team. Some of them. knowing me will have a cheeky scouse smile on their faces full of cracks throughout the game while I whatever the result will have to grin and bear it as I have done for nigh on 45 years.
I will go away knowing that at least on the Red side we will be respected as a club for both the way we play and the way as a club we conduct ourselves. Thankfully on both sides you will always be in the minority.

That is the only unsavoury overtone to the whole thing. I hope against hope that he'll keep his trap shut on the subject as the game approaches, especially after Liverpool fans' shameful behaviour yesterday. I love Gus but on that subject...*shudder*
I'm sure the two recent incidents of racist abuse at Anfield have nothing at all to do with the way the club led by Dalglish conducted themselves over the Suarez affair.
