Primitivo. Always gets thumbs up from me.
Châteauneuf du pape, or a Côtes du Rhône.
Both very nice reds from the Rhône region of France
I like Yellow Tail. Cheap, widely available and tasty.
I already had his website open
Still, I'd just be yet another customer wandering in asking the same question, so I thought I'd ask you guys for some of your recommendations
Glad I could help
Where will you get your Gran Passione?
Sure, but which one?Chianti
Which one?Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile
Well he's 70 and he knows what he likes. What he doesn't want is some light Beaujolias. The three in that set would be up his street though, thanksGive him the chance to try something new, nicely presented too.

Quite possibly this
Absolutely not this
Get onto Hailsham Cellars, order a bottle, or two, of St Hallett Old Block Shiraz, it is in my opinion the finest bottle of wine you will find for £50.
It truly is tremendous.

I like Yellow Tail Sauvignon Blanc (but I drink Bare Foot wine and I'm told that's even worse)
and I put RED wine in the fridge .... YES, in the FRIDGE!
Can thoroughly recommend Chocolate Block...
And anything from the Boutkenhoutskloof label - although they are difficult to source in the UK
Sure, but which one?
Which one?
Any in particular you could recommend?I don't think you can beat a good Malbec
