Sorry if this has been covered but who is in our recruitment team now and who is in charge. Winstanley Potters Swedish mate are at Chelsea and think person Albion put in charge has also gone to Chelsea. I recall DeZerbi also brought with him a recruiter who I assume is now leaving.
I take it Chelsea now have access to all our contacts

De Zerbi's man left pretty sharpish. We've had Mike Cave (Assistant Technical Director) in situ for ages who oversees recruitment and is supported by George Holmes, scouting and intelligence manager, in completing the duties of our previous Head of Recruitment, Sam Jewell.

None of this has changed or is new with the recent De Zerbi news.

RDZ ‘recruitment’ guy left after a couple of months.

We’ve not announced a replacement for Jewell

I can't see behind the scenes, but i'm of the opinion that you can't keep on being ransacked for support staff and continue to replace on a like for like basis. At the absolute best, you can find someone for a particular role who will do as good a job, but often you have to wait for them to be available or it will take them a while to get their people in post and up to speed

All of this has been reflected in a drop in recruitment quality. I'm not slating them, they've still got us, some very good players, Joao Pedro, Barco, Baleba. But there have been more mistakes than usual in the last year and i'm not looking at the production line and thinking it looked as nailed on to produce first teamers as it did when I was looking at it 2 or 3 years ago.

We need to stem the flow of decent people out of the club and try to restore some continuity

I'm hopeful that, like the recent announcement that the long departed medical team were being replaced by some standout candidates sourced from far and wide, that something similar is in the off with the much depleted recruitment team. Annoyingly, it would have been beneficial to have had this in place for Summer recruitment though.

Easier said than done with the riches and promises being offered by the oil Sheikhs, yanks, etc.

Like with players we have to recruit those with talent and potential, help them develop and overlay with TB’ s data (and hope…..!)
