If you loved Supertramp back in the day you will love this, Roger Hodgson was the definitive voice of Supertramp and wrote a lot of their songs, and sounds as good as he did back in the 1970's.

And the same applies to Jeff Lynne who created ELO and wrote all their hits.

Even if you don't particularly like Led Zep this is worth watching just to see Alan (Fluff) Freeman introducing the band while wearing his tight little white leather fringed jacket in 1975. I never before realised he could exude such an irresistible combination of hipness and raw sexuality. I feel a stirring beneath my dressing gown which I might now have to attend to. Meanwhile enjoy...

The hugely talented and unique Mael brothers (incredibly aged about 70 at this gig), with their accomplished session musicians.

Saw them on that tour, promoting their Hippopotamus album (one of their best).

One of the best gigs I've ever been to; they didn't play a single duff track or bum note.

The single (Self-Effacing) off their forthcoming album is also brilliant; really catchy and quirky.

Got tickets to see them in Amsterdam in October.

That version of Kashmir is the best ever - far more energy and intensity than the Physical Graffiti version of 1975!

Allow me to introduce you to the Tiny Desk Concerts...many, many hours of wonderful music by wonderful artists in a non-amplified format in a small room and with a small audience but performed in a manner which showcases the artists and their music in what are often magical and intimate performances the like of which are seldom or never experienced in a concert hall....by way of a demo try this offering from The Milk Carton Kids....

Only a single track but wow!

I was lucky enough to be around six rows back from the front, more or less directly in line with Bowie. Incredible moment. All the staff in the bars etc of the Royal Albert Hall were seemingly tipped off he was going on stage, and they all started pouring in to the hall, to stand on the stairs etc. and watch. He did two tracks - Comfy Numb and Arnold Layne. There was a picture taken backstage of THREE David's - Crosby was also there, performing part of the show, with Graham Nash. Not that THAT would happen any more!

It was also Bowie's final UK live appearance...

And in a similar vein to the Tiny Desk Concerts (ie concerts recorded in a small space for the internet) I can also recommend the Live at Daryl's House concerts. These differ from Tiny Desk in that the musicians are amplified and Daryl hall plays/sings with other musicians on most of the recordings (well, it is his house!) but there is some superb stuff on here and again, by way of a sampler, here's a song with a somewhat spaced out (ie normal) Joe Walsh on lead guitar....
