Muse might be tolerable when they find their own identity and stop trying to be Queen.

stop trying to be queen? There is about 10seconds on this one album that sounds a bit like queen, which they and brian may joked about after it was released.

I urge you to find ANY other muse track that shows they are 'trying to be queen'

The Felice Brothers - The Felice Brothers (yes I know it's pre 2009 but that's the year I first heard it)
Wilco - Wilco (the album)
Levon Helm - Electric Dirt

I haven't heard of 70% of the bands mentioned on this thread, let alone the albums,

Izmir, Southern Turkey
Echo and the Bunnymen -- The Fountain
Prefab Sprout -- Let's Change The World With Music
The Cribs - Ignore The Ignorant

What a fantasticc album from Paddy McAloon. Some of the songs sent shivers down my spine. I know this is being released 15 years late but its amazing for a man whose eyes have to be held in by plates and suffers from acute tinnitus.

Paddy is possibly the greatest songwriter of our generation.

It is very good indeed, although I have to say I think Andromeda Heights is probably my favorite PS album.

'The' Yaztromo
Just two thus far:

1= Diagonal - self titled. (of Brighton!)

2= Astra - The Weirding.

Both on Rise Above records.

Awesome contemporary prog, for those who like: BJH, King Crimson, Floyd, Sabbath (prog leanings), Heep, Tull, Lord Wakeman and the even more obscure: Nektar, Pulsar, Gracious and perhaps even small elements of Fruup, Gentle Giant, Gravy Train and Gnidrolog.

Set your Mellotron's to stun.

YouTube - Astra - 06/07 - Broken Glass / The Dawning of Ophiucus

YouTube - Astra - 03 - Silent Sleep

YouTube - Astra - Side 1 - 01 - The Rising of the Black Sun

Rock and Roll!

Richard Hawley - True Loves Gutter - love this album
The Cribs - Ignore the Ignorant. Johnny Marr makes the difference
The Wutars - Heard them on Gary Crowley this week, great acoustic small town punk folk, they'll go far. The Wutars

Only one - Lene Marlin - Twist the Truth

Think Damien Rice but more sincere.

Don't be so blind! Muse have been a Queen tribute band for a good 3 or 4 years now.
Everything from the camp outfits, OTT live performances, droning high pitched vocals etc.
