Please don't take my reply as disagreeing with your points about Jenrick and Cummings, but I would like to disagree with you about the effect the "scandals" on BJ.
It just does not seem to have the same affect to his popularity as other politicians. Going into the last election he had a charge list as long as your arm. He was convicted of breaking the law over the closing of parliament and hiding in a fridge and calling burka wearing ladies letter boxes.
For some strange reason people still vote for him. May be what you look for in a politician is different from other people? Perhaps people aren't looking for some goody two shoe boring politician.
Well done Starmer, miraculously, I don't quite know how, the Labour Party is truly no longer under the control of Momentum leaning members.
If he keeps this up, we'll have the opportunity in 2024 to vote for a centre-left government. Or not depending on your preference.
The reason offered for the sacking was anti-semitism, and I'd welcome an explanation as to why it constitutes anti-semitism. I think you're right that Starmer wants to appear tough on Momentum, but he wants to appear tougher still on the issue of anti-semitism. From what I can see, Maxine Peake love made a comment about Mossad, but I might be wrong.
I must admit I haven’t delved into the link, but I inherently trust Starmer, he wouldn’t done this lightly.
Going by the BBC it’s the link or the link to a link on Jewish conspiracy theories. I’ve got no time for the Alt Right, parts of the Hard Left or t*ssers such as Icke banging on the Rothchild’s, Jewish traits or tropes. Jews face an internet pincer movement from most unlikely allies.
The Labour party and socialism was built on Jewish people from Russia to the US over a century ago, who pioneered social justice. If Starmer restores that, blitzes the party of antisemites and those retweeting antisemitic innuendo, only good can come from it.
The above doesn’t mean that Israel’s government shouldn’t be brought to account for atrocities and land theft.
I look forward to them knocking on mine.

Maxine Peake repeated a claim that's been made elsewhere that the US police learnt the restraint techniques used in the killing of George Floyd from the Israeli special forces. The article included a quote from an Israeli spokesperson denying this claim. This was just one line in a long interview though. Long Bailey sharing the article doesn't lend her support to this theory in my eyes.

If you are so closed minded why feel the need to comment?
All of this kind of stuff is tiresome. I've had a look at the BBC news story you refer to, and also the original Peake interview in The Indepenent that I've scanned. Can't see anything in those on Jewish conspiracy (on which, all conspiracy theories are awful, but anti-Semitic ones are the most pernicious).
Starmer has indicated that the "article contained Jewish conspiracy theories". I'm still struggling to understand how, and will continue to until I'm offered an explanation that makes sense.
The right decision by Starmer, needs to stand up to the anti Semites in his party and this shows true leadership, to think only a few months ago she was one of the favourites for the top job, now back on the back benches.
From all your posts, it appears that you would never vote labour, but you think that the Labour Party should be knocking down your door.
I don’t get it ?
If you came out from under your rock more often you might have noticed the two Tory parties that have been fighting for about 30 years..It’s happening, they’re tearing themselves apart .
There will be two Labour parties at the next election.

I think you are suffering from yet another delusion, no such thing as the Louisville Slugger, there may be a Louisville Slug, under a stone. If you don’t get it change your aftershave.
I have voted Labour in the past, I find it unlikely I will again, I don’t want anyone ‘Knocking down ‘ my door, Nobody has ever knocked down my door and if they did it would be a swift introduction to the Louisville slugger.
