It was wonderful today. Post match, thousands still there, bopping up and down to Freed from Desire. The players doing a walk round the stadium past a rapidly emptying away end while crestfallen Utd players and staff trudged off the pitch. Bloody marvellous scenes. And some spoilsports want to see it stopped. If they don't want to join in, why don't they head off to the bar instead or just go home and let the rest of us celebrate and enjoy ourselves. It's a winners anthem now.

Some absolute gimps on this thread. I love it! Means we have won and is part of our dance music links (Fatboy Slim) etc.
Not really mate. Disliking a song doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy the moment.

But If they did change it up and stick on a record like Madness - One step beyond for example, i’m willing to wager it’ll still have the same joyous atmosphere….

Personally I’d like to see more of a link between the club and our impressive number of bands with a local link, even at Peacehaven FC we had a spell of promoting Peter And The Test Tube Babies as “our own” (Ok. not everyone’s cup of tea but I’m sure you see the point of us making the effort)
However, a lot of clubs equally don’t give a shit, recent examples include Everton, playing FBS and Sheffield United playing a number of random bands despite producing some absolutely fantastic bands over the last 40 years.
Playing songs like Hey Jude when we’re at home to Liverpool leaves me scratching my head.
United seem to do it better as you usually get plenty of New Order and Stone Roses.

In conclusion though. I’m not letting my day be ruined by what they play pre/post match. If we win I usually get carried away and join in with FFD (I’ve usually had a skinful in fairness) although I do draw the line at Sweet Caroline though.

I was absolutely thrilled that Hey Jude wasn't planned pre-match. Hopefully my constant pleas have been answered.
I actually quite like the fact fanzone was not played either. Much less cringe, oh and I liked the sound system.

This was all before a memorable win! Freed from Desire is a song you can celebrate too, so I quite like it tbh. Would like 'Praise You' back in some shape or form.

I believe Chelsea play One Step Beyond at the final whistle, maybe something else like this…..probably a bit slow for some of our fans though
