Just going by personal experience when I was there for the 0-0 in 2002. Full house. It was BRILLIANT.

(mind you, I had been drinking).

Personally I think their fans would do exactly what Sunderland fans have done this year if they do struggle. Anyway, the thing that annoys me most is the way they all think they are great fans by going to their local club instead of Liverpool etc but they've only started going when the team does well!

I'm just WORRIED that if we are ever in a similar position we WON'T be able to expand Falmer and will be stuck with a 23,000 capacity forever. It's not even 25,000 :dunce:

My fears exactly, and the official club line is that we can't expand it (although whether that's just the official line 'for the time being' to satisfy the NIMBYs I'm not sure). One for the future (and I know we're not Man Utd or The Arse), but whether we could ever be a Premiershit force with a ground a third the capacity of Old Trafford or Ashburton Grove.....

I was at the same game. WE did indeed make a lot of noise - while a group of 150 individuals - probably with about seven pubic hairs between them - in the stand to our right lamely banged a drum in between mouthfuls of hotdog and reminding each other which ones were Reading again. All in daft worzelly accents too.

About 100 Albion fans in the pub near the station before the game made more noise than all the Reading arriveistes put together that day. They're NOBS.

You forgot 'Fever Pitch-reading...'

(that's 'reading' as in reading a book, not Reading as in the Premier League club)

f*** sake. ANOTHER club planning to build or increase stadia.....

This is really pissing me off having to watch piss poor matches in piss poor weather in a piss poor stadium. Only I can explain why I keep going back, which I can't.

Why a thread on this? Madjeski has been talking about a new tier on the East Stand for ages, even when Pardew was there.

The Madjet probably has the best sight lines of any stadium in the country, hope Falmer's will be as good.

Apart from the fact they're a bunch of plastic, hot dog munching, drum bashing toddlers, it rankles with me that these clowns have got to the top flight.

At one point, before the '80s, you stood out as a proper club if you'd spent any time at all in the top flight. There were of course exceptions to this rule - Palace & Northampton for example, but the point stands.

But since we got relegated in 83, we've seen Oxford, Swindon, Bradford & Wimbledon all make the top flight. But the last two years have got to rock bottom. Two bob tin pot shit clown outfits with enormously wealthy backers have been bankrolled - not just one but TWO noddy tinpot outfits backed all the way to the top flight in shiny new grounds while our proper club with proper support is stuck in el stadio della portakabin. And I for one am proper pissed off about it. Wigan & Reading? Where's the justice? :( :nono:

Bradford were top flight many moons before that and won a FA Cup. Got nothing against Reading, they have got a decent chairman, a kind of backer we would want and a stadium. sadly.
