What a load of absolute cocks.

As we all know, Reading fans are PLASTIC. They never fill their home ground, never sing or show ANY passion.

Last night they only just managed to fill about 60% of our away end. For a so-called big club, playing their first away game of the season at one of their closer opponents, that is PATHETIC.

Fair play, the few hundred that did turn out made some noise last night.

But the real PROBLEM is the fact that Reading fans have sunk to a new low. They have joined the moronic group of supporters that do that quite frankly EMBARRASSING chant of "easy, easy" whilst clapping over their heads in a star jump movement.

Do they actually think this looks good? They look like RETARDS. Pure and SIMPLE.

I'm PROUD to be an Albion supporter, if only for the fact that we DON'T do that chant.

Well said, i think the EASY chant has ran its course, and hopefully when Soccer AM returns on Saturday morning, they have got rid of it once and for all.

Indeed, it seemed like the only chant they can do. As Martin said, they look like a bunch of retards.

I have changed my feelings for reading, I hated them a year or so ago, now I have total apathy towards them and their fans and almost feel sorry for them.

Perhaps they would feel more at home int he american soccer league so they can wear foam hands during the game as well.

Until SoccerAM start up another gimmick for every plastic fan to copy. Its just as annoying as the song Derby played after they equalised on Saturday, 25000 people doing a gay little dance for 10 seconds and then shutting up again. I just hope to god those f***ing plastic clapping things they have a Preston dont catch on, if you want to clap use you f***ing hands!

I have to admit they did make me smile a bit towards the end of the match when they were having a bit of banter with the ballboys. There were two ballboys in particular sitting on red and yellow crates respectively and they were singing

Red crate red crate give us a wave

Yellow Crate yellow crate whats the score

etc
etc

And the reason why we don't, because we haven't won a match by more than one clear goal since, hmm, MAY 2004.

Spot ON. It really was cringe-worthy watching hundreds of (I assume) well-educated people going "easy, easy" whilst looking like utter spacktards just so they can be featured on Soccer AM this Saturday. Yet another pathetic bit of corporate crap to add to music being played after goals, halftime singers and bloody boom-sticks.

It's like watching Milton Keynes.

No, the reason is because it's SHIT.

And anyway, fans do it every time they score, save a penalty etc etc, not when they are winning by two or more goals.

Exactly, they did it when they missed chances too. What else can they copy from the TV? I'm surprised they didnt all pretend to be on a motorbike and zoom around the stand like the crazy frog! :shootself

What's preferable? A couple of THUNDERCûNTS clapping "EASY EASY" or their comedy attempts at generating an atmosphere in the half empty home end of Estadio della CLACKERSTICK. :tosser: :tosser: :tosser: :tosser:

A contradiction there, surely?

Question: would Albion fill a 24,200 capacity ground in the Championship?

of course not, and you do not build a stadium based on the premis that you would fill it every week ( apart from Premiershite teams who need to do that to survive) If you look at the stadiums at Oxford/Hudds/Derby etc, they rarely sell out, its only when the big boys come to town in the FA cup etc that they are relatively full.

Having said that only 6500 was a tad worrying last night

It could easily be done. Certainly you shouldn't look at our Withdean gates to form an opinion any more than you should look at our sizable away support to do so.

Withdean has no real opportunity to generate walk up trade.
Withdean is a crap hole with no roof, no atmosphere and crap facilities.
Withdean costs a fortune to rent. Therefore, the club charges extortionate prices to maximise revenue.
Withdean can only cope with 700 away fans.

When Falmer gets built, I'm expecting a state-of-the-art stadium, reasonable prices to attract kids, probably a side that can hold its own in the division, and a "first season" novelty factor, up to 4,000 away fans to be accomodated (who will certainly travel to a new ground at the seaside)

So yes, I'd fully expect us to average 20,000 in the first season if we were in the Championship. The same applies to Cardiff City, BTW. On the other hand, Reading are a nothing club.

I don't think so. I'd be very surprised if either club could get an average of 20,000 in the Championship, unless the teams were right in the thick of the promotion race all season.

Sure, both clubs would probably get 20,000 attendances for the early games at their new stadiums, but I reckon the support would level out once the novelty factor had worn off.

I can't really understand why Artois is criticising Reading for not filling a 24,200 capacity stadium while they are a mid-table Champioship side. It would be a major surprise if they could fill their stadium under such circumstances, wouldn't it?

Exactly, although. I'm not sure about 20000 average but certainly near that. I have said it before that when we get Falmer we will be a similar club to Plymouth. New stadium, large catchment area for fans, already a good away following. There were games last season (Leeds, Sunderland, Ipswich) where we could have sold out Falmer easily.
