I think there is a certain irony about this thread...
You are so very very wrong,we have 5000 season ticket holders paying pathetic money to sit in a dump with no roofIcy Gull said:I have serious doubts that we'll do much better than 12-13k once Falmer is built and the novelty has worn off. We have lost generations of fans starting with our drop out of the top flight. I have no doubts that the Goldstone crowd figures were manipulated but our attendances in the last 4-5 years there were dramatically down on the glory years of the late 70's and early 80's.
There are so may diversions and other things to do in the Brighton area that it will take a special team to pull the crowds in at Falmer, let's hope we have one as I can see it being a long haul for getting back the "lost" fans.
BTW - I guarantee that given a decent result the "easy" chant will be adopted by us
Yorkie the club was on a massive downward spiral then, also the goldstone was becoming a crumbling wreck month by month.Yorkie said:Some of those season ticket holders travel from North Wales, Bristol & Gloucester to sit in Withdean.
What were the average crowds at the Goldstone 90-95?
10K ?

You can't base that season on our future, late 70's averaging 24-25k in this division, its just not worth comparing.
Admit it yorkie you know we will sell a good 11-12k season tickets at falmer
Its all about funds and ambition,i doubt dick can do that for us,but im sure other interested partys will be very interested,no point having a shit team in a nice new groundYorkie said:I really hope so Pete. I know the first season there will be the novelty value but just hope we can sustain it.
We've been far too long without a home.

You are wrong, you look above and you can see my point. You used to get 2-3-4-5-6-7k's and now get between 12-18k,anyway we all have our views, but we will certainly be getting big crowds at falmer thats my certThe Laughing Bluebird said:Why? Yorkie asked for your attendances, not ours. Cardiff's attendances aren't really relevant to the Falmer debate, are they?
Get your money out you tight bitchYorkie said:A double scotch on my wages? You've got to be kidding.
