The cup match is on tv so you won't miss much.

Good point! Ok,in that case then, I'll be taking advantage of my 6-months' free Sky (inc Sports and Movies) for coming back to them from Virgin!
I'll start practicing my singing now, then:
"Kusz-czak... Tomasz Kusz-czak!" followed by "Michel Kuipers, the former Dutch Marine, former Dutch Marine, former Dutch Marine!"

I can't be arsed to go to friendlies no matter who the opposition is. I'll make an exception for Michel's testimonial though.

I had been thinking of going to FDM testimonial and away to the cup match. I think the cup match may have to fall by the wayside, as seeing 2 prem teams at the Amex in the space of 4 days will be my biggest footballing week ever. Party time!

Really?! Yes, I will be going to the Chelsea match; but I'd consider a JPT game against Boston as bigger as it's competitive. Friendlies will never be big.

I would have chosen Chelsea over Reading - not for the opposition but because it's a Saturday - a long drive for a midweek friendly doesn't especially appeal to be honest. However, looking at the diary we are in Amsterdam until the Monday so realistically won't make either game.

First of the season for me will be Swindon then the two home league games

Hmmm... I take your point: as regards the matches, perhaps we should describe them as "showcase" rather than "big". But, as I say, I don't think I've ever seen 2 premiership teams live in a single week, so that will make it a big WEEK for me, even if the games themselves aren't important.

Neither. Friendlies are shit (and I have Olympic tickets for the Saturday anyway)

If back from USA in time will go to the Worthing friendly just to give to them and help them out rather than pay for Chelsea who don't need the money. They could play for nothing if it came to it.
