Reading player looks in real pain, Reading physios aren’t exactly in a rush have to be coaxed on by our players? Bizarre

Another pony decision from the referee, literally didn’t do anything, reacting to the player going down

Would love Enciso to stay and not go out on loan if he's going to get enough game time ............looks a real talent. With 5 subs allowed Potter will be able to give more players the chance

Agreed. Not sure about Undav - doesn't quite look the part at the moment, but early days.

Only caught the last 30 minutes but it looks to me like we have an embarrassment of riches in this squad. Hopeful for a positive start to the season.

Good to see the new players. Mitoma and Enciso could be a lot of fun to watch. Impressed by the way Undav links things up too, and he seemed difficult to knock off the ball. What a great squad the club has built. Keep Cucurella and it's such an exciting season in prospect.

Mitoma looks very pacy. Enciso is deceptively strong and also skilful. 5 subs will help us this season I think as it gives us a chance to give these fringe players chances to influence games with 15/20 mins to go, as the game opens up a bit.
Certain players are still a little rusty.
Was impressed with Caicedo again, and Mwepu when he came on.
Cucu was just his normal energetic and skilful self.
A little surprised not to see Sarmiento. Maybe he'll start versus Brentford.

Some things that interested me:

Duffy and Clarke coming on and not Van Hecke. Is he carrying a slight knock? Dropping down the pecking order? Something else?

Maupay playing. Suggests we've not accepted the 15m bid?

Mitoma and Enciso are much closer to being in the squad than I thought. Love Mitoma's burst of pace and Enciso's positivity. There's plenty of potential there.

Cucurella doesn't appear to have thrown any toys out of his pram.

I think there was something else but can't for the life of me remember what...

Edit: Just remembered! What a shame we only got to see Bissouma and Caicedo play together for a handful of games. He really impresses me and the two of them together would have been formidable, especially in a three with Ally Mac.

It may just be my perception but managers do seem to give young attackers more of a chance from the bench than defenders. Not only are more subs made in attacking positions, but the consequences of making a mistake are normally less severe. So hopefully there’s a good chance we’ll be seeing him this season rather than just getting updates on the loan thread.

Superb from the Albion so excited from the season now.

This Reading team, managed by Paul Ince, that just avoided relegation to the 3rd division, are no mugs...

...oh.

I don't know what the possession stats were, but there were periods when Reading just couldn't get the ball.

On a different note, both Mitoma and Enciso are looking very sharp and full of tricks.
