Reading after CMS

No chance CMS is going today as we dont have the time to replace him and would be left with a massive hole until the end of the season. Simon Church isnt any good anyway and certainly not required now we have Vokes.

Unless Gus has a surprise up his sleeve! Of course there is always the loan market opening shortly, there might be a few Premiership strikers available until seasons end. :) But I think this will just die a natural death, but will become a real possibility come the summer unless he finds his goalscoring touch again. Yes he puts plenty of energy into his game, that's to be applauded, but his main job is to find the back of the net. Fingers crossed Vokes is the key. :)

Morning All!
Yesterday evening Sky Sports uploaded a feed on their 'Transfer Centre' page about Reading looking to swoop for CMS? Surely this has to be an evil rumour, and even if it wasnt, we wouldnt sell our record signing?
I am a huge fan of CMS despite his recent goal drought, his effort is the best I have ever seen of a striker!
Any one know any more about this?!

Welcome E-Gulls... good quality first post - not sure about the blue text or the slightly strange choice of username - can you enlighten us??

CMS is going nowhere. Its like pulling the plug out of your bath after you just filled it.
The whole team I should imagine has been built around CMS.

These rumours really get up my nose. I though it would get better out of League 1. its a lot worse.

Whole heartedly agree, Gus is building around CMS and imho I dont think CMS is going anywhere

If Church isn't good enough for Reading then we really shouldn't be interested in taking him. Cash only I think, 6 - 7 million I reckon, given they have millions from Russia

I think you'll find its only bird-related clubs that do swooping... Reading would be more likely to be "ready to crown CMS" or something.

No chance he'll go though, otherwise whats the point of getting Vokes in ?

I would think that CMS is part of the long term plan, which at a guess includes Dunk, JFC, Bridders, Buckley, Lua Lua, Hall.

Those guys are going nowhere unless (a) they really want to or (b) a crazy bid comes in.

Could see Gus resigning if CMS is sold to Reading to be honest

Most of the talk on this was yesterday, but the last one is the best news...
Here's the link I posted, which I had hoped was from a fanciful Reading journo Royals linked with Mackail-Smith / Reading Chronicle / Sport / Reading FC
From one of the worst papers, a bid of £3m plus Simon Church Reading want Craig Mackail-Smith | Mail Online
Sky Sports on Reyes and CMS, but this appears to be a 3rd hand lazy edit of a story (sorry Sky) Brighton Football News, Fixtures, Results, Table | Sky Sports
BUT there is light amongst all this.... a failed bid! Royals linked with Mackail-Smith / Reading Chronicle / Sport / Reading FC

It would be a backward step for the club to let CMS go. Surely Bloom knows that?

Why? You are assuming that he won't replace CMS? I really do not want CMS to go, but if that allowed us to bring in Kitson (as an example) then you could argue we are better off.

I don't see anyone being sold without Gus's approval, unless the offer was crazy money, in which case Gus would probably be happy anyway :)
