My thoughts:
1. There is a very "ambitious" club up the road with a chairman who will happily splash the cash.- they are 11th placed Chelsea.
2. Bloom's CV in moving this club forward speaks for itself. You have to be ambitious to do what he has done.
3. We've sèen all this before with Poyet and Potter.
4.. RDZ is talking up his 'ambition' purely to keep The Big 6 and big European clubs interested in him. It is a dog whistle word.
5. He should shut the f**k up about that because ny concern is it destabilises the players. Just say "the chairman and I will discuss matters after the end of the season but right now my focus is on Brightin finishing as high as we can."

There are borderline players who could stay or move - like JP, Mitoma, even Gross could return to Germany, and this isn't helping.

It’s a bit extreme to suggest he should know his place. But I do think he should be more respectful and, if he has an issue, talk with his employers and not the public.

That’s what he keeps saying he is planning to do (and I suspect those back room conversations are ongoing) but the press still keep pushing, pushing and pushing, trying to get him to commit to a future he doesn’t even know at this stage. I think the press has shown a lack of respect both to Brighton as a club over the years and to our managers.

I’m beginning to think though RDZ needs a press officer to handle his pressers for him, he really is too unguarded and perhaps a little naive at how the British Press/fans operate. Italian football and the media has perhaps a greater addiction to passion and drama because of the culture and would probably take these frustrations of RDZ with a pinch of salt as would Italian fans - latinos eh!

Im in this camp. I also feel he maybe accepted targets for this season that we havent achieved and so he is feeling the pressure and looking at mitigating circumstances.

Whatever happens, and I’m not fussed really because 18months is about average for a football manager, we will go on and another chapter unfold. Had great times and who’s to say we won’t again under someone else. Biggest problem we will always face is retaining personnel in every department. Constant upheaval created by clubs with greater resources can only be planned for to a degree. Still got to replace every few weeks and that churn is a problem. Kills continuity, momentum and stability which are everything in football.

Well in my opinion he seemed disrespectful to Tony Bloom and I think he has a contract until 2026 but could be wrong. If that is the case then the conversation about the plan to that date would have been had when he joined.

But plans and ambitions change. Barber has stated numerous times that RDZ has made the club re-think the we want to be competing for the top 10 of the Premier League plan that was in place. Besides which a discussion at the end of the season to review and plan for the season ahead happens at every club, discuss the short term aim for the following season as part of the bigger long term plan. The discussion will also be around how Bloom thinks this can be achieved and if RDZ thinks the tools Bloom will provide him can deliver that plan as well.

It isn't fact. It's guesswork, opinion and speculation about reasons for our shocking ninth place in the EPL table based on a partial narrative about the inner workings of the mind of RDZ and his 'attitude'.

I can assure you that if RDZ were being a dick of the sort you suggest, Bloom would sack him.

A parting of the ways in the summer seems inevitable now. The manager and owner do not appear aligned any more. The injury list has been ridiculous, so many players and for so long. We did not replace the sold players the crown jewels with similar quality and which is clearly grinding roberto's gears as the injuries are. If he goes I will hold him in the highest regard after these 2 amazing seasons and wish him well with great success

On the other hand this must be water off a ducks back for Barber (and Bloom) . Hardly a surprise. This is what he is. Here’s Barber from just earlier this month saying RDZ pushes him to go further, and speak publicly and that’s a good thing.

Different though isn't it? Traditional media is much less likely to be bothered with, or have the time for, analysing his every word.
It's social media where clumsy soundbites generate the real noise. And that does create an atmosphere around a club, it will seep through to the staff and players, it does influence talk on the terraces at games etc.

Yes, but that is an art that RDZ struggles to master I think. His ability to handle the press with more prudence needs some work but he is an Italian speaking football coach who only learned to speak English a year ago, this is his first job in the EPL and he has already become something of a media sensation because of the football he has us playing. As Cantona once said, ‘When seagulls follow the trawler, it’s because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea’.

(Starmer is a seasoned politician with an army of script writers and press officers at his disposal - he rarely would do an interview without knowing/agreeing to all the questions in advance!)

May not be inevitable but seems it’s heading that way more and more unfortunately. You’re right in regards to the Crown Jewels not being replaced, CM on one of the best 11 threads from 2 seasons ago and even last season is the difference. Bissouma, Caicedo, Macallister all sold and Mwepu retired. Along with Gross that is a top 4 CM if not better. I’m amazed we are as high as we are. I’ll always be thankful for being about to watch the RDZ era no matter when it ends. I just hope the book has 1 more chapter

It's not about where we are in the league. I'm 53 years old and this is the greatest time alive, to be an Albion fan. This is about attitude, disrespect for you employers and disrespect for the man. whom gave you the platform on which to perform... I like RDZ, but he is not bigger than the club.....and he is not above question. I happy to think he is a bit of a one trick pony. And although that trick was very entertaining, while it lasted. It gets found out and you have to evolve. And I'm not seeing that. All I'm seeing is deflection of blame and a bit of a sulking brat tbh.......all very Poyet ish.
