He'll be very disappointed. He wabts 4th. Club happy with top 10. The lack of reinforcements coming in leaving us with no wingers is very disappointing, it's negative from Bloom if it doesn't happen.

All very strange
Is it? Why would the club go and spaff a whole load of money on MORE wingers when we've already got a decent selection on our books (albeit injured). They'll be back soon enough, FFS.

A single chance taken last night – giving us a scrappy 1-0 win – and this place would have a completely different atmosphere. The margins are that fine!

Some people really have become all "We should be beating #TeamsLikeWolves" here, haven't they?

Not sure it was margins last night our shots tally compared to other matches was probably the lowest all season.

Probably irritating draw 🙂 I did the same after the Fulham game, kept saying on here we’d lost till it was pointed out to me! These frustrating home draws do feel like defeats, I think partly because we’ve been there so often over the past 3/4 years!

I agree about over analysing the interviews and about the squad. I wouldn’t be concerned if we didn’t sign anyone. However we were linked with right wingers in the summer, even before Solly’s injury, and with his injury as serious as it is and him turning 30 in the summer, I do think that is a position we could or maybe should try and strengthen in as the lack of width is really costing us at the moment and Mitoma, March and Adingra when fit are the only genuine wide attackers we have in the first team anyway.

If the right player is available as always, then hopefully we will bring someone in and that will make RDZ smile a bit more for the
interview analysts! 🙂
As you’ve pointed out, I completely disagree that the squad would be bloated if we sign a wide player.

We desperately need a left footed winger as we currently have none in the squad (Adingra is pretty two-footed but not a natural with his left). De Zerbi ball is often heavily reliant on fast wingers who can cut inside. That issue on the right is not going to be solved by Enciso or Fati returning. Adingra coming back will help, but then we’ll be back to flogging him and Mitoma to death again. The moment Solly got injured we should’ve been prioritising a like-for-like replacement of him. If we don’t get one this month, it will be a rare failure from the club.

We refused - damn refused - to shoot or cross when the opportunity arose. The forwards and at times Groß, Perv, Lallana, Buonanotte, Welbeck but particularly Pedro were all guilty of it.

When you’re struggling to break down a low block, you have to adapt your game. At so many points last night we had nine players camped in and around the Wolves penalty area, but we failed to play direct to utilise the bodies we had forward.

As I said in the other thread, that was pure Potterball. Passing side to side against a very well drilled defence, running out of options then being countered.

Pedro should’ve won it at the end, but with the game he was having I didn’t believe for a second he would even shoot, let alone score. Sadly I was right.

Against a team which are unbeaten in 6. Wolves were well orgnised, had a plan which they executed well, and are no mugs. We had 11 shots btw. As RDZ said, we had enough last night to win. The answer in my opinion is not even more wingers.

RDZ said in the summer we needed another winger, we didn’t sign one. Yes we got Fati but he’s not a winger. Then March gets ruled out for the season and the need became even more pronounced.

As always when there’s even the slightest hint of criticism of Bloom or the club people get very defensive but on this particular point I don’t think the club has backed RDZ in the way he has asked.

Absolutely. It's clear we were a winger, DM & fullback short going into the season.

I do like how we sign these wonderkids, but i think the club are a bit too reliant on them when they are just not ready to be important players.

The squad for the rest of the season currently only has two natural wingers and both of them are right footed!
When are Adingra and Mitoma expected to be back?

I agree I don’t think we’ll get anyone in this window, but i don’t think squad size is necessarily such an issue as people are making out. Dahoud is clearly on his way out, and I’d be very surprised if Lallana goes beyond the end of this season. Fati will probably go back to Barca/on somewhere else at the end of the season. So there are some spots available. An athletic DM (replacing Dahoud) and a winger (replacing March for now, and then Fati next season) seems like what RDZ probably wants. But availability (at a reasonable price) is probably a bigger stumbling block. Kudus would have been ideal…
Agree with this (although Dahoud might be with us longer than you/RDZ wants). The larger point I was trying to convey is that our current squad looks decent enough for the remainder of the season. The areas you identify are those that we need to strengthen, but it's more likely we'll do it in the summer when there's more availability rather than this window.
