I can't think of a more natural goal scorer within the last 15 years, this bloke just knew where the goal was every time he touched the ball and his movement and finishing was sublime. One of the best strikers to grace the game.

I heard from someone within the club 2 weeks ago that an approach was made. I mentioned it and got shot down in flames. I know he has signed a mega money contract for some Arab side and would be a very, very strange U turn. There is something in this. I doubt it will happen, but it is not just a rumour

Any chance you could elaborate a little and explain how this u-turn would work? He signed a one year deal with Al Sadd in May so this wouldn't be a u-turn it would have to be the mutual termination of his contract.

Interesting though that his ratio in the competition is far inferior to Messi's or Van Nistelrooy. He played 144 games for his 71 goals. Messi has an incredible 51 in 68. God knows how many goals he will end up on.

For pure comedic purposes, I would love to see each of our faces if we signed Heskey instead now…

My subtle point being that we are building up so much expectation with these rumours of world class players coming to the Albion that when we do make a signing, be it Heskey, Trotter or any other “lesser” name, it will just feel like an anti-climax. I mean that Andy Carroll thread the other day was just ridiculous…
